Former SAPD officer shot, girlfriend in custody

Neal was an 11-year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department before being charged with sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman during a traffic stop in 2013.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the woman said she was handcuffed and was outside by the trunk of Neal’s vehicle during the sexual assault.

Neal was on duty, in full uniform and in a marked patrol car when he sexually assaulted the woman, the affidavit said.

Former San Antonio police Chief William McManus said at the time of Neal's arrest that another woman had made an accusation against Neal a couple of years prior, then refused to cooperate.

He said Neal had recently been suspended for three days and transferred to South Patrol for fraternization. McManus said Neal violated department policy by dating an 18-year-old woman who was in the Explorers program for young people interested in law enforcement careers.
Glad he'll survive to see his day in court and jail

Whistleblower cop: Oxnard, Calif., police get gun and skull tattoos every time they shoot someone

As far back as 2001, the Los Angeles Times detailed how police in Oxnard, a city with just 170,000 people, had killed more people that year than cities 22 times its size. During that year, a concerned mother called 911 because she was afraid her depressed son, Robert Jones, would harm himself. Jones was cowering in a closet when police shot and killed him, and the city later paid the family $1.5 million for the "mistake."

Now, a former Oxnard police officer is blowing the whistle on a sick practice of officers in the department proudly "earning" tattoos every time they shoot and kill people while on duty:

The former Oxnard police officer who recently left the department said he saw the tattoos on the officers. He made a drawing of what the “shooting” tattoo looks like. He said the tattoos were probably purchased from a tattoo shop in Port Hueneme because that is where Oxnard officers go to get tattooed.

The former Oxnard police officer also provided the names of seven Oxnard officers and two retired officers who allegedly had the tattoos. The nine names also included two officers who are currently commanders at the Oxnard Police Department. One is a watch commander.

The former Oxnard officer told American Justice that if smoke is added to the tattoo, coming out of the barrel, then the shooting was fatal. He said the tattoos are “earned” by officers involved in shootings.

Okay, I got your point. Your point being you literally have nothing else to do except search for bad cop articles on a Saturday night.

I think I'll go eat supper I missed, take a shower, watch a few re-runs of MASH and check the thread in the morning. You think you'll be done by then?

Is that point to track down as many articles as you can?

You haven't done enough in my opinion. Post up at least a dozen or two more.

Point #1: Police suck at dealing with the mentally ill.

Point #2: This is a cross-thread analogy. I could keep posting links and say, "Clearly law enforcement are all racist bloodthirsty rapists. Law enforcement is not to be trusted." That is what you are doing in the climate change thread: posting a few cases of anecdotal evidence. It's silly.

Again, I personally respect and trust law enforcement. I think most have good intentions. However, I might be hesitant to call them if I need help with a mental patient.

Guess you got tired of posting stuff you know I'm probably going to ignore.

Just like you ignore questions posed to you in the faux global warming thread.

So he's going to trial?

Your complaint is? Is justice not being served?

Also, I'm still trying to pin down where you draw the line on a "justifiable" killing. And you never answered my question, "How many civilian lives do you believe cop lives are worth? "

Point #1: Police suck at dealing with the mentally ill.

Counterpoint 1: You already said the entire nation sucks at dealing with the mentally ill. So how is it you want to single out one single profession?

Hunt, that dog doesn't do.

Clearly you are avoiding the question I posed in the thread since you cannot answer the question. Likely because you know by answering it truthfully, you blow your entire stance on the matter out of the water.

And everyone else sees it too.

Again, I personally respect and trust law enforcement.

No you don't.

If I could barge in...

GV, in our last conversation you said it was clear I distrusted traffic cops.
I'm not sure that's true. I drive the speed limit, don't drive drunk, do not fail to yield. I believe in the rules of the road. Sorry, its just been bugging me...

Do you always avoid questions you don't want to answer?

Did this cop not get charged with manslaughter? Is he not going to trial? Was the use of force in this situation not deemed viable and the officer in question have his day in court?

What are you whining about if they found the use to not be justified and are taking him to trial? You want the summary execution instead? Skip the trial and just burn him alive at the stake?

Can't do that though, that'll create too much CO2.

I don't recall saying you distrusted traffic cops. If I recall, I said I could understand why you distrusted cops by taking your history into account.

If I implied wrongly, I apologize.

I might be remembering wrong. Good chance of early senility for me. Ill let you and Bart get back at it.

Ugh, you were doing so well until MASH reruns.

Grand, do you wear khakis with a pleated front?
