Wait, so if you have a flat tire on the side of the highway and see someone gets rear ended when you are changing - how does that make your situation better ?
If what I have been seeing is any indication to what has actually taken place, Coleman will be cleared and hopefully can return before spring practice is over. The story about him taking the merchandise to sell for a "friend" (former teammate), who has already been dismissed from the team, must have some truth considering the number of reports. According to his attorney and UT student center that can access this info, he has never even swiped his student ID card to get into Reese (the dorm where the theft occurred). None the less, even if he followed someone in, what is the likelihood that he knew which dorm room to find the merchandise? I truly believe he is innocent although he did make a dumb mistake.
That's the entire Game Stop business plan. Always charge full retail, discount a game by $5 off full retail for being used, then give people no more $5 for any game.
Hate that place and have never understood why people shop there.
The problem with a situation like this is that if it turns out to be a mistake and Thomas is fully exonerated, it'll follow him around. The media is quick to report charges filed, but they don't devote nearly as much effort to reporting charges dropped. And there still will be comments like, "Isn't that the guy that stole that stuff?"-- not to mention, giving new life to the UThief and Fulmer Cup crap. Unfortunate all around.
Someone who is proven to be innocent is not news worthy in today's press. That is one reason why I am so critical of the writers for the KNS. They speculate a story based on limited data and often are proven to have inaccurate data. they weldon if ever retract this initial stories or apologize for the incorrect data. The most important task is to be first rather than accurate.
