septic why should you care if a president wipes his butt with the constitution. your Marxist/dem party has been doing it for decades.

I realize you think you're being clever but the quantity of fail you're exuding is becoming too much to bear. I'm actually starting to get embarrassed for you.

Here's a little tip for you, people who think your arguments are stupid don't do so because they are partisan. They just think your arguments are stupid.

I know this might be hard to concept for you to grasp given that you clearly aren't very smart - but I don't like Obama. That said, I also don't blame him for everything wrong in the world. Grow up, stop being so politically myopic and maybe someday, someone will take you seriously.

That said, I still think your adorable. But mostly because you think what you say matters.

Now that he's officially running, he must find a potential VP with the last name "Missile".

Cruz / Missile 2016 is too good an opportunity to squander.

The name sounds Hispanic because his father, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, was born in Cuba, and fled in the 1950's. Google his father's name and read his story. He escaped from Cuba with $100 sewn in his underwear, and knowing no English.

Once MSNBC gets ahold of that story, they will report Cruz came from privilege because his dad made underwear from $100 bills.

He is divisive because he has stepped on some powerful toes.

Same can be said for Obama and not in a good way. Stepping on toes when you are the only one doing it is not a great indicator for a great executive. If your own side does not back you...

Someone mentioned the Koch brothers earlier. They are more libertarian on the social issues so they are more inclined to go with Rand than Ted. Problem with Rand for them is that he is not the proper businessman in appearance and attitude. Apparently, they like more suit and tie types. If they can get beyond the dress code attitude issues they will probably push Paul or someone less vocal on the social conservative issues.

Can you believe an inexperienced, mixed-race Senator with a questionable birth certificate, and only accomplishment is going to Harvard is running for President?!

Based on this, if Cruz is Muslim he's a shoe-in.

Ted Cruz is in! Hell yeah. The future is not bright for a young republican with the social positions of an old guard, neoconservative nanny.

Its one thing to describe yourself as religious. It is quite another to say that you intend to govern based on religion.

Cruz is the latter. That's why he can never win.

I searched for Cruz saying he intends to govern based on religion. Couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

Religious based convictions on social issues need to be minimized or completely jettisoned by the Reps. It was, is, and always will be the Achilles heel of the party.

A filthy Socialist has enjoyed 2 freakin' terms because of it. Crossing my fingers no more damage is done from now till 2016.

You speak the truth. Part of the problem is that they require the religious right to have any shot at the WH. They demand a stance on abortion, same sex marriage & evolution. In some regards, it's over before it begins..

They do that from both sides.

Although I disagree on evolution being a front burner issue for most voters.

The worst thing that ever happened to the Republican party is all the southern democrats that migrated over after Civil Rights was passed. That's when the religious right became a permanent driving force in the party.

This is the truth. Certainly social conservatism is popular with a good number within the party (my assumption); however, this is not the case for the majority of Americans today. It consistently hurts the Rs and the Ds do a good job of exploiting the weakness.

everyone governs based on religion. whether your religion is atheism, humanism, muslim, roman catholic.

our constitution was based on biblical principles, so I guess the founding fathers shouldn't have written it.

i guess that's why the left hates the constitution so much.

Nearly a decade since Congress rejected a federal constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriages, public sentiment has hugely shifted to the point that 60 percent of Americans indicated support for marriage equality in a recent poll. But Cruz continues to fight against equal protection for same-sex couples, pushing for legislation and a federal constitutional amendment to allow states to deny them the freedom to marry. He denounced 2014 court rulings overturning state same-sex marriage bans as “judicial activism at its worst,” calling them “tragic and indefensible.” “Traditional marriage is an institution whose integrity and vitality are critical to the health of any society. We should remain faithful to our moral heritage and never hesitate to defend it,” he said.

Cruz is a strong opponent of abortion rights, but also has opposed access to contraception. He backed the Blunt Amendment to decimate the Affordable Care Act’s guarantee of contraception coverage and denounced emergency contraception as “abortifacients,” incorrectly suggesting that Plan B causes abortions.

Although the U.S. constitution expressly prohibits the establishment of a national religion, Cruz has expressed concern that a religious group that makes up only about 1 percent of the nation’s population might do just that. At a 2012 candidate forum, Cruz warned “Sharia law is an enormous problem” in the United States.

In a 2012 article on his Senate campaign site, Cruz sounded the alarm that “Agenda 21 is wrong, and it must be stopped.” Cruz wanted that George Soros and others backed a 1992 United Nations agenda to “abolish ‘unsustainable’ environments, including golf courses, grazing pastures, and paved roads.” The non-binding resolution, signed by 178 nations including the United States (under then-President George H. W.Bush), was nothing more than a general statement about reducing policy and building sustainable environments — and has, more than two decades later, not been used to eliminate golf courses.

Sincere question: if there were some questioning whether Obama was born in Hawaii or not as it allegedly would effect his eligibility for office, why is Cruz eligible for office? Doesn't that mean it was moot where Obama was born, given that he definitely had an American mother (like Cruz, who was born in Canada)?

Do you think the constitution accurately solves all the problems of our modern democracy/society with all the technology developed?
