So some black honors student at UVA got his ass kicked by law enforcement for seemingly no reason yesterday...on video. Even if you make something of yourself, you still fit a profile.

According to Fox News website, you must be speaking of Martese Johnson who is charged on two counts: obstruction of justice without force & public swearing or intoxication. In the arrest report, Johnson "was very agitated & being belligerent". The Gov. has called for an investigation into the matter.

Yeah, because resisting arrest and yelling "f*** you racists" to the cops is a smart idea. Another "woe is me" black kid who has no respect for authority. Where have I seen this before?

I'd like to see the video. I'd wager he probably was combative with the officers right off the bat.

I saw a video this morning of two meth heads stopping at a border patrol checkpoint. The cop asked how he was doing and he immediately became combative and said he refused to answer any questions. Well guess what happened? His infant son got to watch mommy and daddy get rolled up for probably no reason other than daddy was a jackass.

I dont get why people can't understand if you are just polite and respectful to not only cops, but everyone, life is pretty easy. But hey if you wanna hang on to your militant sovereign citizen cray cray you reap the consequences.

Been to Virginia Beach? The cops wait outside the bars to get people who are drunk and swearing since public profanity is a crime. Dumb? Sure. But you know when I went there I saw the signs and I knew better.

In SC if you get pulled over and have visible pornography in your car you can go to jail..

In Florida if your jorts are too long you can be fined.

Ending the war on drugs would be of huge step to improving racial relations in this country. He refuses to cooperate then resists, cops toss to ground, his dumb ass friends freak out because he cut his head then he calls the cops racist F'ers and says he goes to UVA.

Just another kid getting arrested, happens every day..BUT WAIT this one is black and has good grades so its a story!

Tried getting into a club with a fake Id and was reported to the cops, resisted arrest, enacted plan B - Race Card.

A-freaking-men. This is the BS that pisses me off, just cause the kid is black makes the fact that he was hammered and resisted arrest irrelevant. Might as well start claiming race as a defense at trial now too.

You posted a link that doesn't prove anything as far as your claims. The video starts after he's already been beat down.

Just do what the cops say. Don't understand why people still do this stuff.

I don't think the cops should have arrested him in the first place, but Martese should have just gotten on the ground and stayed silent.

Gotta sift through the moronic comments from eye witnesses.

He wasn't beat down. Used fake ID, wouldn't cooperate (he is drunk), resisted arrest or detention, got body slammed, cut his head which bled more due to high BAC, wasn't Irish.

I've seen this like every weekend in downtown Orlando, blacks/whites/hispanics. Its a rainbow of ass whoopin's. Most drunk people, especially young kids, are morons who feel invincible.

When they start questioning you, just go to the ground? I can't argue that it's not in your best interest, but that's not the state I want to live in.

We don't really know that he was refusing to cooperate. His friends say he was answering questions. The cops are obviously going to say otherwise. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it.

It doesn't look good for the cops. When all you can charge him with is obstruction of justice, the incident looks like a joke.
