Racism

This is not true of everyone affected by the war on drugs, though. In fact, we're all affected by the war on drugs, one way or another. It just hits certain neighborhoods a lot harder than others.

And any lover of liberty wouldn't be concerned with the question of whether or not they broke the law. The concern should be with the law, and only the law.

Drug laws are inherently racist.

Enforcement of drug laws is racist.

which accurately describes your viewpoint?

Not really either, though there is truth to both statements, depending on how strict you are with semantics. It's more like the war on drugs disproportionately hits poor neighborhoods, but yes there is some element of racism in the way it's enforced.

Maybe they wouldn't be living in a poor neighborhood if they didn't do drugs and applied themselves?

Rich folks get busted with drugs all the time huff. They just have the means to stay out of jail/prison.

Not all of them do drugs, but I mostly agree with the rest.

I know most of them don't do drugs, but, it's present somewhere in the family. Poor decisions and lack of education.

The odds are against these young people at a early age. It sets a tone to their development.

Blaming white folks and the war on drugs doesn't solve the problem.

Maybe we should take the money spent on "the war on drugs" and put it in the school systems.

Sorry. Just typing out loud.

Huff, can you get drunk now? Or do you have to works on your pythons again?

The key thing is we can only control so much at the government level. Can we fix neighborhoods by addressing things at the family level? I'd say that's fantasy land. We can, however, control whether or not there is a war on drugs. That's a very easy thing to change, and it would have a huge and net positive impact on poor neighborhoods.

Of course you can, I'd be disappointed if you didn't ..😜

You too man, get damn drunk with me. I'm in the middle of domestic turmoil, so the only logical solution is to get good and drunk. Maybe arrested

I'm gonna run tonight in a couple hours, then I'll be having a porter I think...

What are you drinking?

Extra stout, yeungling, assorted light beers once my taste buds have kicked the bucket and Makers Mark.

I don't understand how making crack, pot, and meth legal, is going to make the poor neighborhoods better??

What positive impact is it going to have? Are they going to go apply for a job or go back to school because of it?

Are they not going to drop 5k on wheels and be a responsible parent because drugs are now legal?

I don't get it....

Can't get Yuengling here, but that's my go-to lager when I'm back that way. Had some in Richmond earlier this month.

Just stay away from the rubbing alcohol. You don't wanna be learning braille.

It's rather simple. You see, if a non-white individual breaks the law then the law is clearly racist. What's so hard to understand?

Well, for one, all those kids whose Dad is in jail because of the war on drugs are no longer in jail. Even if they don't live at home, that makes a huge difference in the lives of the young poor everywhere.

It will reduce violence. No more violent black market.

There are too many benefits to mention.
