Lmfao!! OK Brother!! Guess we can agree to disagree. Do admire the effort!I hope like hell Dobbs becomes one of the best QB's in the country this yr. He just has a long way to go. And if you are putting your eggs in the Alabama game basket then you didn't watch Ala play much last yr. I will refer you to passing yards they gave up to W.VA, Auburn, Ohio St and even Mauk torched that secondary a good bit. That was not a typical Saban secondary, they were statistically worse than our secondary. But to this point I don't have the confidence that he can play well and beat the more elite teams on our schedule.Beating UK, a very bad SCe defense and almost losing to a horrid Vandy team hasn't instilled that yet. And most Vol fans I know feel the same. But we all see the potential to lead us to great things, but until he does do it I will have that lack on confidence. He can change that quick this yr by beating OU and finally beating UF.

Dobbs is set to explode this year if he stays healthy. No doubt in my mind.

Dobbs wasn't perfect last year but that OL last year was historically awful. Hard for anyone to look consistently good behind that mess. Also Dobbs wasn't playing with a fully healthy wide receiving corps late in the year.

The win at USCe shouldn't be diminished either. He led a tremendous late game comeback in a hostile environment. Not many QBs could do what he did in that final 5 minutes. Mauk's comeback at USCe wasn't nearly as difficult.

After watching those highlights...

I was a big fan of Austin Kendall, though I admit he has a quirky delivery and questionable height for someone with his type delivery.

If Josh Dobbs is the ideal type of QB for our offensive system, I see a lot more Josh Dobbs in Jarrett Guarantano than I do Austin Kendall.

Guarantano, based on their individual tapes, has a stronger arm, more dynamic running ability, and made some really impressive throws over the middle, in tight windows, as well as the deep touch that was evident on Kendall's highlight tape.

I was upset at the thought of Kendall decommitting when it was rumored weeks ago, but having watched tape of both, if we replace him with Guarantano, I think we will be fine.

I posted that video and stats months ago. There's debate as to what his stats actually were last year.

Based on the highlights only and not including the plays that were obviously happening during scrimmage, I counted roughly 860 passing + 430 rushing. It's not a stretch to believe 250-300 more yards could have been picked up on short/non-highlight type of passes and 70-100 yards gained on short/non-highlight runs.

Worley was far from accurate, so apparently you didn't watch many games. I'm not knocking Dobbs but he did beat UK, SCe,Vandy and Iowa. 3 of the worst defense's in the conference last yr and was horrid against Vandy. His ability to run isn't what dictates his success. When he was ppassing well it opened up his ability to get yards running. When he struggled passing he took sacks and had little success running. But if you watched games like you say I shouldn't have to explain that to you!. I hope Josh wins the Heisman the next two yrs, I really like him. But if anyone can they they have full trust in him right now to go beat the better teams then you're FOS. Hopefully Debord helps him to fully develop the talent potential he has.

I guess I'm FOS then...

6'4" 200lbs, rocket arm, quick, smart quarterback, hard-worker, and seems like he loves Tennessee(unlike Kendall). I hope we can close the deal on him next week on his visit, because he will be the best QB we've had since Since and waayyy better than that IMO. He's an upgrade from Kendall and he's gonna be good.

kid will be a big time ***** recruit before all is said and done. Have to wonder if Tennessee is flashy enough to compete with FSU, Ahia State, and Oregon here?

With Tennessee now back on the open market for a quarterback the search for the Vols' 2016 signal caller starts with New Jersey native Jarrett Guarantano. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound dual-threat quarterback has been to Tennessee twice now under Butch Jones and knows Jones well because of his father. It's worth noting that the Vols continued their relationship with Guarantano even throughout Kendall's commitment. We were able to talk to some people today around his recruitment and Tennessee is certainly in the thick of things along with Ohio State and Rutgers. The connection to Rutgers is pretty obvious, his father Jim, played there (and it's where he got to know Butch) and the family lives about a half hour away. They were the first team to offer him and have made him the centerpiece of their recruiting efforts for the 2016 class for a long, long time. Ohio State has been a top contender for Guarantano for some time as well and he certainly likes the school, but there are scheduled to be six quarterbacks on campus when Guarantano arrives in 2016 so that's something to think about. Also, the Buckeyes already have Danny Clark committed in the class of 2017. But, from what we understand as well, Ohio State, along with Tennessee, provide a bigger stage to play on and that's something that interests him as well. As for the Vols, while the taking three quarterbacks last year is having to be addressed with most recruits at this stage, it hasn't seemed a big deal from those we've talked about Guarantano. Guarantano is expected at Tennessee March 22-23 after participating in the Rivals QB Challenge in Atlanta so we should get a good feel what he's thinking the day before he visits Tennessee. As of right now, all three teams seem to be in the race but Tennessee certainly has a chance to make an impact on his visit. We are hearing he'd like to do something before the summer begins.

This kid looks really really good. I think he will be special wherever he lands. I hope Butch can convince him to suit up in Orange.
