Yes, and it's obvious he couldn't. But, the reason he could not breathe enough to sustain life can, and is, tied directly to his poor health and obesity. Arguing that he died solely because of one reason is not factual, a multitude of things are cited in the report.
I feel like we had a thread for this debate some time ago.
I'm wondering what the reaction on this board would be if the homeowner had opened fire...
Garner could scream. Garner died from asphyxiation.
Asphyxiation is suffocation. Suffocation is the inability to breath sufficiently to continue the respiratory process.
Check mate. Now, shut up.
The cops should have easily been aware of his medical condition and acted accordingly. Obvious, he wasn't going to evade arrest and get in a foot race with cops at close to 400 lbs.
Trust me... If you knew the extent of how idiotic that argument is you certainly wouldn't be making it.
I think if someone comes breaking into your home in the middle of the night that it's a definite possibility. I've said many times that foolish behavior is the catalyst for every one of these instances discussed. The cops are not above initiating the foolish behavior.
How much time transpired from the time he was choked until he died? Im just curious how the cause of death was asphyxiation if he didn't die for several hours. Was he never revived and coherent after the incident? I've never heard any of these details.
Look, I made a statement that was factual. You and your buddies decided to call names without disproving my statement. You claim you backed someone into a corner because you are an ICU nurse (when i have twice the medical training that you have). My statement was true. Enough said.
A year after the incident, then-District Attorney Walter Reed brought charges against Dendinger. His case was backed by two prosecutors who asserted that Dendinger had assaulted Cassard. Seven witness statements also supported the case.
Cassard made the same claim, writing in a voluntary statement that Dendinger slapped him in the chest when he served the summons.
Pamela Legendre, a staff attorney who witnessed the hand-off, said she thought Dendinger had punched Cassard.
Bogalusa police chief Joe Culpepper said that Dendinger had used violence and force.
And another witness said in a deposition that Dendinger used such force when he served the summons that Cassard flew back several feet.
It wasnt fun and games, they had a plan, the plan was really to go after him and put him away. That is scary, Philip Kaplan, the attorney representing Dendinger in his civil rights case, told WWL.

Though Carl... I'm sure jp could probably explain that much better. He's got twice the training that I do.
Just going off the information you posted im assuming you are a registered nurse. I could be wrong.
First off You made an idiotic and douchey statement and we all called you out on it. Secondly I didn't back you into any corners. You did an exceptionally good job of doing that all by yourself.
You're correct But I am a bachelors or just associate prepared? Do I have any certifications and if so how many? How long have I been a nurse? Have I worked in other areas besides the ICU and if so how many?
These are just all things that I figured you knew since you were ready to proclaim you had twice the training that I do.
