Frank Cignetti in town to be interviewed...

I'll be sickened.

Yeah, because there's no way Trooper could out shine the brilliance we saw displayed by Cutcliffe. 3 second half shutouts, no feel for the game in terms of play calling, and inserting plays in our offense that resembled a rugby scrum (that so-called trick play from Tuesday).

there's a nice comparison. Nothing like making your decision off of who most on VN are ecstatic to see head east down 40 to Durham.

I never thought Adkins was a possibility either. With the 8th coming up and candidates dropping like flies, who else is in the position to land the job? Doug Matthews has said that, after speaking with CPF, he may still have interviews left but his mind is made up. He said the coaching staff will be approved of by the fans but one of the the coaches will be a surprise. This has me lost as hell.

Sanders?

Has there been any discussion on why the announcement would be made on Tuesday?

Monday's big event is the NC game--nothing in the NFL.

It could just be a marketing calculation, so I'm just wondering the significance of that date.

Surprised by one of the coaches, approved by the whole.

I would approve of Sanders as a position coach and surprised. I wouldn't be happy as him at the OC again.

I couldnt stand him... I was up in the air about him until 2005. That was a sick performance.

Fans would approve CRS as QB coach, right?

I would but then I think of what happens in the future... possibilities of him ending up as OC again are there.

Not as long as Fulmer is here. He won't put CRS in that position again because it almost costed him his job.

Leads me to believe it maybe someone on Staff? The only way a coach would be surprised is if he did not expect to get a job and was surprised to get it. the fans split although approved and we only need 50+ percent. Not on staff and Trooper is now not on UT Staff. OMG this could be it. I hope not but with the Surprise factor, the split vote, and the technically not on staff factor. Could be a surprise for all of us.....Crap!!!!!

I think he meant the fans would be surprised - not the coach. I think it would be great to have RS as QB coach. I'm sure UK would hate to lose him. He was Woodson's QB coach.

I dont believe Randy Sanders would come back after what happened to him before.

Why would we want Sanders is QB coach? Because he coached an already good Kentucky QB for two years? He was quarterbacks coach during Ainge's meltdown and did nothing spectacular with either of the Clausen boys.

Woodson was NOT "already good" when Sanders arrived.

That being said, hiring RS back would be hugely idiotic.
