When next years Outback, Chick Fil A, Cotton or Capital One game (whatever bowl UT is in) concludes, what will be Phil's excuse for not playing in a BCS or national championship game? Let's help him out here:
1) Inexperienced QB (and whose fault is that, Coach?)
2) Tough schedule. (The UCLA game all of a sudden looks challenging with RN as their coach).
3) Injuries? Everybody has them, that football.
4) Perfect Storm.....wait you've already used that one.
5) All the new coaches

I'm starting to change my mind. We'll probably destroy the SECE next season and play OU in the NCG.
The logic from the crowd for sweeping change just doesn't pass muster. They have no ammo. Those pesky little 14 losses over the past 3 seasons are just an aberration. The nine season championshipless streak, just a temporary series of setbacks. Don't they know we've played in as many SECCGs as anyone else. I've been focused on it in the past, but what's the big hangup with actually winning the title. I should be just as content to list for people the series of plays that sealed our defeats while pointing out that we were close and we really overachieved, given that a couple of other teams have trounced us earlier in the season.
This staff is going to turn it around under Fulmer. Do those illogical buffoons not remember the last time he guided an organization through a workout scenario and reinstituted excellence as the standard? That cat's easy to get back in the bag for an old regime. Just boggles the imagination that they're not with us in expecting at least 13 wins, SEC title and a BCS berth. How on earth do they view this slightly extended down period as mediocre? I know opposing coaches even have jokes about our penchant for the Citrus, but it's a nice bowl. Bunches of college teams would kill to go there and have a chance to win 10 games every 3rd year or so.

i enjoy the games immensely and I love the prospect of the basketball team.
I strogly believe we will have to see change in the football program before it goes anywhere near where we need. I've spent one helluva lot of time around teams and turnarounds are top down type operations and don't work without change at the very topand hardcore accountability. neither of these is coming to UT any time soon. i find that very frustrating. i'm happy that we made the SECCG, but annoyed that said game propped up CPF after absolutely embarrassing losses this year, yet we squandered the game away against a depleted LSU team. hence, we came away with nothing to show for the impetus those defeats generated. no SEC title and no changes. exactly where we were at the conclusion of the past 5 or 6 seasons. I find the scenario frustrating.
I can imagine how frustrated you are. Fulmer is responsible for the past 5 or 6 seasons that you find so distasteful, and yet he is also responsible for the excellence to which you are comparing him. You do realize that Fulmer has the best record of any Tennessee HFC for the past 50 years(including the past 5 or 6 seasons)don't you?
By no changes I assume you mean we still have the same HFC because I see many changes happening in the coaching ranks.
No. The last two years are 19-7. Not quite but almost back to the 90's level of performance. Those pesky little 14 losses over the past 3 seasons are just an aberration.

Yes... any way you slice, dice, or fillet it... 2005 was an aberration and any time you pull out a subsample from CPF's career that includes that year but not the 13 years prior to it... you have more than likely manipulated the data to dishonestly bolster a predetermined conclusion.
How can you consider any thing but a championship successful?

If you are going to have a one dimensional measurement I guess you would have to be measured by how many tickets you write, or maybe how many bad guys (hopefully) you shot.
