The DPR claim they've taken the last remaining road into Debaltseve, if true it means the pocket is entirely encircled.

if i don't hear a statement in the first few minutes about the need to bomb russia or at least kill all ethnic russians in ukraine, i'm going to turn the channel.

bbc world says #angie_merkel "won't oppose the us to arm ukraine." most probably then she won't have to do anything. Push it on the us.

Obama says Russia has broken the Minsk agreement but wants to negotiate again. Can anyone explain that idea to me?

#BREAKING Obama says Russia cannot redraw borders 'at barrel of a gun'

You don't do that with sanctions and blankets.

You're right. It was a poor effort on my part. I will try to do better next time. To be fair though, the quality of my posts tend to deteriorate as it gets later in the night. I'm usually pretty impaired by the time that post was time stamped.

i can usually expect high 4* low 5* from you but that was more a Kentucky bound 3*. sorry, on a bit of a recruiting binge right now.

has ukraine even engaged their regulars? i know they have a limited number but all i remember reading about are the militia conscripts. seems like they would have their best engaged if they were really worried about losing the east.

Hmmmaybe RT @ZeddRebel: Obama wouldn't talk at this length about possibly arming Ukraine if he wasn't getting ready to arm Ukraine.

@ChristopherJM 5m5 minutes ago

Obama: If diplomacy fails, we will look at other means. Lethal weapons for #Ukraine one option. But decision hasn't been made yet.

In one simple summary sentence: Obama says he will give Putin one last chance to choose peace with the Merkel plan, or he'll arm Ukraine.

Sounds like the White House will give the Russians one last chance to agree to peace and when they don't we'll start arming Ukraine.

yeah the people there want to be seperate

The SMM then observed the evacuation of civilians from heavily shelled government-controlled Debaltseve (55km north-east of Donetsk). The SMM patrols were dispatched to Debaltseve after all sides had agreed to an eight-hour temporary truce. They observed that several hundred civilians, including at least 100 children, were able to leave Debaltseve during the truce. The SMM followed approximately 50 buses coming from Donetsk and Kramatorsk, which, after entering Debaltseve, collected civilians at assembly points in the city. Those who wanted to leave the city were given the choice between two destinations. The buses that were bound for areas within “DPR” had about 40 people on board, whereas about 766 people were leaving to government-controlled territory, according to figures provided by the JCCC.

Latest from OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine based on information received as of 18:00 (Kyiv time), 6 February 2015 | OSCE

really no reports of movement on the border Ras?

On patrol to the “DPR”-controlled Uspenka border crossing point (BCP) between Ukraine and the Russian Federation (73km south-east of Donetsk) on 6 February, the SMM observed several military convoys: four unmarked multi-purpose light-armoured towing vehicles and one unmarked military truck (Kamaz) in “DPR”-controlled Makiivka (12km east of Donetsk) heading west towards Donetsk city; three unmarked covered military trucks (Kamaz) in “DPR”-controlled Khartsisk (25km east of Donetsk) heading west towards Donetsk city; seven unmarked covered military trucks (Kamaz and Ural) in the vicinity of “DPR”-controlled Zugres (35km east of Donetsk), moving west towards Donetsk city; 29 unmarked military trucks (Kamaz and Ural) on the “DPR”- controlled T0517 highway (54km east of Donetsk), moving north. Two of the trucks were open and carried green wooden cases, two meters in length, consistent with boxes used to transport Grad/BM-21 munition. The SMM could not confirm if the boxes were loaded.

And what will happen after that? Lets war game this for a moment and see where this takes us. So we go in there and arm the Ukrainians. What will be the response from Russia?

continued reports of shelling, both sides, said the Ukrainians were firing from a source just outside, 1km, of a civilian evac, that had a temporary cease fire. (pointing out the OSCE points the finger at all)

officially shouldn't it be nothing? as they are not officially in Ukraine to begin with?

*i don't think there has been any doubt that Russia won't mind escalating, so to answer your question Ras more people are going to die.

seems like you are getting personal again, try making it a joke about upholding Russian freedoms or some such

Good advice, young Louder.

I just get carried away. It's difficult for me to deal with another poster who thinks Putin the second coming of Thomas Jefferson, the Charlie Hebdo and Sept. 11 terrorist attacks the work of the CIA, and this current crisis the result of a cookie exchange.

But I'm trying.
