If we start winning and people love the play calling, the old jokes will fade into calling him "wise," "experienced," "veteran," "patriarch," etc.




This game is so predictable.

I only kicked a few pebbles around the pot. I actually get where some are coming from my question is how in the hell did you not brace for this over the course of 2 weeks? Butch is about as obvious as my wife when she says nothing is wrong. Something is wrong so get ready for the melt when she finally unloads.

I'm just gonna say this here instead of the FF.


I'm so sick of hearing we run a Zone Read Offense. It's actually a Gap Scheme Offense with a touch of the read option.

Two things:
Why does everyone leave Kerbyson out on the OL discussion? He was arguably our best OL last year and played out of position at the hardest slot (LT). Will he play LT, RT or get back to Guard, his natural position?
Next, who is going to be the QB coach? DeBord is known more for his OL prowess, if I'm not mistaken.

Its that kid whos dad is the lb coach for the lions. He was a michigan qb and is like 26

After us playing true freshmen when I thought we might have done better not I won't guess on 2015 oline. I think Richmond was likely promised a very very long hard look at PT.

#2 - Sheridan, a GA, will coach QB's or that is the rumor but we only have him 1 more year so it's temporary.

Man I just really don't get this OC hire unless we really had no shot at a few of the top candidates. We needed, it seemed to be a popular opinion anyways, help for Mahoney on OL and Debord makes sense on that aspect....BUT we do NOT need a revolving door of QB coaches, or a GA being the QB coach anyways, IMO. Wonder how we could ever shuffle the staff to allow for a QB coach, bc I don't see any room.

2. Debord has been on a NC winning staff. He knows what it takes. Butch can use that knowledge.

Having a coach on staff that has been to the top of the mountain is huge if you ask me.

It's hard to find an OC who wants no changes in the staff anywhere else and is told the offense he will run

No doubt about that. Butch is really setting himself up for some conflicts BIG TIME in the future whether it be here or somewhere else. I love Butch so don't take that like I'm negging on CBJ. I'm just super concerned about the inner workings.
