I think some of you guys are unfamiliar with how trash talk works.

First off, eff Florida. They could beat UT another dozen consecutive years and their recruiting class for 2015 would still suck. Its like when you play pickup ball. Just because you took the ball from me and dunked on me doesn't mean that you aren't ugly.

Secondly, if you choose to trash talk your do it all the win. You talk it when you are up, when you are down, and even in the face of certain death.

TL;DR Florida sucks

Yes we need to beat them and beat them consistently. Crappy recruiting classes help the cause.

Here's to a top 70 Gator recruiting class:moon2:

Youre comparing a third yr class to a transition class.


Im pretty sure guys like Foreman and Swafford had offers from MTSU,Chatt and Furman. I remember some of the post when they committed.


I know nothing about the kid. I would be surprise if he's even around his Jr yr. A warm body at this point.

If we add Richmond, and only Richmond, we will have 15 4 and 5 star recruits on 247 this cycle. Last year we had 17. So 32 in a two year span. We had 25 in 2011/2012/2013 combined.

So we went from having 8.33 per year to having 16 per year.

Here is the depth chart just from 2014/2015 4 and 5 star recruits (I included the potential and actual transfers, just to show the talent that has been added. They are noted with brackets and x's):

QB: Sheriron Jones, Quentin Dormady, Jauan Jennings
RB: Jalen Hurd, Alvin Kamara, [Derrell Scott(X)]
WR: Preston Williams, Josh Malone, Von Pearson
TE: [Daniel Helm(X)]
OL: Drew Richmond, Jack Jones, Dontavius Blair, Charles Mosley
DE: Derek Barnett, Kyle Phillips, Andrew Butcher, Darrell Taylor, [Dewayne Hendrix(X)], [Joe Henderson(X)]
DT: Kahlil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle, [Michael Sawyers(X)]
LB: Darrin Kirkland JR., Dillon Bates, Quart'e Sapp, Gavin Bryant, Chris Weatherd, Jakob Johnson
CB: Micah Abernathy, Justin Martin, [D'Andre Payne(X)].
S: Todd Kelly Jr., Cortez McDowell, RaShaan Gaulden, Evan Berry.

PS: I know that I post a lot of stuff like this. I think it's just cool to have a clear statement of just how incredible the past couple of years has been.

Top 25-30 should be the goal. A new HC coming in in December can't really expect much more than that. Year two in recruiting will be the real tell.


Good luck with the rebuild, and I hope we kick your asses this year and for many more to come.

Thank you Freak for putting together this board. I don't always agree with everything you and the Mods do on here, but you really do have the best board out there.

And saying that Butch is over achieving on the field is worse.

There's no doubt he's dashing any and every expectation off the field but c'mon, he's hitting the mark on the field, not exceeding it.

It's a matter of who's expectations I think. I was talking about general expectations for UT, including those I read in college football prediction magazines before the season, etc. I know some in our fanbase think you can slap a power T on a bunch of random players, and they should win championships and play like All-Americans. But more reasonable people looked at our schedule, our losses on both lines, our youth and inexperience, and predicted it would be hard to make a bowl game. Not only did we make a bowl game, we won it and improved year over year in just about every statistical category. We are also on the verge of back to back top 5 classes for the first time in program history. Butch is exceeding expectations big time IMO.

I think next year will be a bunch of fun. CBJ is a winner, and we are about to reap the benefits.

Orangeblood79 is right.

I think we hit our expectation and had a good season for our talent level and experience. We had some coaching failures (namely losing to UF), but I loved the effort of this young team.

We have a long ways to go. We need a great class this year and we need great classes every year afterwards. And then we will need to have the coaches develop the talent.

We are still a work in progress. Two more years before we can expect GREAT things

Actually, we are poking fun at a certain poster, who of course isn't around now that we are killing it on the trail.
