Ainge through so many critical picks it gets lost in the sauce. 2005 LSU game is when I officially knew that Ainge wasn't the guy and I told people that he is the type of quarterback that can set a program back 10 years...

That was 10 years ago.

Yes, this is all Eric Ainge's fault.

So who was the QB in 06 and 07 and led us to back to back bowl games?Ainge is also the last UT qb to beat Bama, or Fla.

Based on Dobbs' inconsistency passing the ball, starting Worley wasn't a mistake. Makes total sense they thought Dobbs need a redshirt year for development. Dobbs is exciting, but he still has a long way to go as a passer.

I agree that worley was a little more accurate but it's not like he was Peyton Manning or anything. But the point is that Butch should have been able to make the decision based in who's skill set matchedtthe read option we run. In the Oklahoma game...If worley had any scrambling ability at all that would have been a much closer game. That one play it looked like he'd walk in for a td. And instead he gets caught at the 1 then throws a pic 6. Worley was a little better passes but based in everything else... Dobbs should have been our guy from day 1

<everything>

Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all time. Beautiful women are just better. Archaeology is a science, not a religion. Humans are overpopulating the planet. Bourbon goes in the glass by itself. Richmond will be a Vol.

Definitely the Floyd and Richmond.

Every account said Dobbs needed a ton of work in practice. Every. Single. Site. 247. VQ. Scout. Not everything is a clear picture. Not sure why people can't understand this.

Plus they wanted to redshirt Dobbs. This is a fact. That is why he wasn't playing and Peterman got the nod at backup. It's just that simple.

I disagree with this. Worley was horrible and wrong for the offense. really the only thing I have seen jones really mess up. other than that I really like jones he has done a hell of a job.

That guy is insane. Ainge was a really really good qb for us. Best since clausen hands down. Great arm, quick release and never took a sack. Yes he had issues his freshman and soph years but his junior and senior seasons were as strong of a two year run statistically as you'll find in the vols record books.

You do realize that Worley was very effective in the games where he wasn't battered. I highly doubt that Dobbs would have played any better vs UGA, Ark State or USU.

I'm scared this is just a game and he reeled everyone in over the weekend. Only to go back home and stay committed to OM. Hope I'm wrong. I'm not gonna, lose any sleep over it though. Got my hopes up too many times on signing day, only to be let down.

The butthurt floweth!

My biggest concern remains the QB position. I believe Dobbs ill be able to correct some of his problems from the past such as being more accurate on his long throws and reducing turnovers. He should have an outstanding season baring injury. If he is injured, one of the true freshmen will have to step forward and play as if he was an upperclassman. The season could be worse than last year if Dobbs goes down. Hopefully, Dobbs ill not have to run the ball very much with are increase in quality running back and our injured WRs returning at full strength.

Everyone knows who the starter will be, but the big story is who will be runner up for the quarterback position.

Kinda like Freeze did last year during their once-a-century championship run?

They just beat us by 5 scores. They can talk for now.

If we don't get DR, it isn't because Butch didn't try. It was a "win" to just get him on campus. Had I been in Butch's shoes, I might not have bothered after that first visit. Guess that's why I'm not a coach!

If I remember correctly 2006 was the year that Coach Cut came back and Ainge was so much a better player for it, he had happy feet the years before. In my opinion it goes to show how important it is to have a good QB coach.
