2015 Tennessee Football Recruiting Class
UT looks to sign arguably the deepest, most talented recruiting class in the country on NSD. UT will sign one of the best QB, RB, OL, & DL classes in the nation. UT's recruiting class will address every need & essentially has zero major holes.
UT did a wonderful job with QB recruiting in signing three 4* prospects. Two QB prospects are EE and will be involved in Spring Practice, while the 3rd QB may have the best overall skillset of the bunch. TX QB Quentin Dormady is the 8th-rated Pro-Style prospect & CA QB Sheriron Jones is the 8th-rated Dual-Threat prospect. Instate ATH Jauan Jennings is a composite Top-100 prospect & the 5th-Ranked Dual-Threat prospect, but also had All-American potential at FS.
UT currently has a huge need for depth at RB & UT did a wonderful job recruiting solid RBs for the present and the future. Alvin Kamara is a 5* & the #1 ranked JUCO RB in the nation. Kamara will bring an instant 1-2 punch with Jalen Hurd. Kendall Bussey is a Ray Rice clone with elite receiving skills out of the backfield & John Kelly is an ATH who had the perfect skillset for UT's offensive scheme.
UT went for quality over quantity at the WR position. UT landed instate prospects Vincent Perry & Jocquez Bruce that are small, shifty athletes who can potentially play the slot. The prize of the class is 5* GA WR prospect Preston Williams. He is the best WR prospect in the nation, IMO. It might take a bit longer for Williams to contribute due to a serious knee injury, but he still is the most complete WR prospect UT has signed the last decade.
UT's OL class is deep with GA OG Venzell Boulware & TN OT Jack Jones being Top-250 type players. This position group will really get put over the top with the addition of 5* Memphis OT Drew Richmond. UT is instantly improving their worst position group from last football season.
On the DL, UT has landed three 5* prospects in DTs Khalil McKenzie & Shy Tutrle and DE Kyle Phillips. UT has the best DL class in the nation. Butcher, Taylor, & Piccou are just icing on the cake.
LB core is solid. EE MLB Darrin Kirkland will be a stud & OLBs Sapp & Smith are rangy ATHs that can rush the passer and are great in pas coverage.
UT went light in the DB class with only 4 Recruits. Abernathy, Miller, & Griffin are all solid contributors while JUCO Justin Martin is, IMO, the best JUCO DB in the nation.
UT's class includes several elite prospects & immediate contributors. Alvin Kamara will immediately give UT an SEC caliber RB. Drew Richmond has 1st-Round NFL potential as does WR Williams. McKenzie is a future Top-3 NFL Draft Pick & Phillips is a future All-American.
Overall, Butch Jones has performed a miracle with his recruiting classes at UT. He is accumulating elite talent. College football needs to take notice, Butch Stones ain't playing games.
