Don't have time to read through 200 posts in the last 12 hours. SIAP-

So, let's move to the Drew Richmond saga and where things stand there. As of Thursday night multiple sources have indicated to Volquest that Richmond has told Tennessee his visit to Knoxville this weekend will be the only one. But, that doesn't mean Alabama isn't continuing to try and get him to Tuscaloosa for some time.

We know that the Tide continued to try and convince him to make the trip to Alabama and people we had talked to in Alabama relayed that they won't stop trying until he's in Knoxville. It's at least something to watch. Both Butch Jones and Nick Saban visited with Richmond on Wednesday and from our conversations with those close to Richmond's recruitment the talks with Jones went very well. It's worth noting that before a late summer visit to Ole Miss, Richmond was a Tennessee lean and had indicated to some that the Vols were going to be his original choice. He has a number of friends that are on campus at Tennessee and it's well known he's a big fan of Butch Jones.

But, the relationship in the late fall wasn't what it once was between Richmond and the Vols as while Richmond continued to say good things about Tennessee he wasn't giving the Vols much hope there was substance to his talk. Regardless, Richmond reconnected with the Vols once the dead period ended earlier this month and the conversations have been very constructive. So, what's next? It will be important to see who is on campus with Richmond; does his family make it in?

Tennessee looks like they might be trending in the right direction here from talking to those close to the situation. But, the Vols are still considered the underdog as Richmond continues to communicate with Ole Miss coaches, players and recruits. If Richmond does make it to campus it has to be considered a small victory as we know the Rebel staff was trying to talk him out of leaving Memphis for any visit on Thursday. If Richmond indeed does make it on to campus as all signs are pointing to, this one should be one to watch leading up to signing day.

So do we know for sure that Richmond isn't at Alabama right now? We only know that as of last night Richmond"told Tennessee his visit to Knoxville this weekend will be the only one." What our coaches hear and what actually happens aren't necessary the same thing.

If true, however, I think we're in pretty great shape.

Per Callahan:

"The Vols also are scheduled to host at least a few of their current commitments — including wide receiver Preston Williams, cornerback Justin Martin, running back Kendall Bussey and offensive lineman Venzell Boulware — along with offensive tackle Jack Shutack, a preferred walk-on candidate who claims a handful of Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers."

He has five offers, but has narrowed it down to us and Rutgers.

this is "ship" level right cheer

Bama 247 guys confirmed that he canceled the visit.

Which of you fellas is good with the Rivals point system and can figure out where we are points wise IF Richmond flips?

We've had more than our share of 11th hour flips go against us over the past few years. We're long overdue to have at least one fall our way.

If we get Richmond, AND he is as good as Rivals thinks that he is, then we will absolutely be a favorite to be in Atlanta for the championship game. The playoff part was a bit too far, though.

Only way that happens is if Dobbs/Hurd go absolute beat mode, Richmond comes in and starts as one of the best true freshman LT's in the country, Mckenzie and Suttle can anchor our DT, and we win the SEC championship game. Not at all likely. 2016....for sure, though.

one game dude. if we can make it to the SEC title game, then we'd be one game from a playoff spot. eventhough I agree that we still don't have the talent to beat someone like Alabama or Auburn in a championship game, its still one game and anything can happen.

no one thought Ohio State could beat Alabama in the playoff, but they did. its just one game and anything can happen.

Even if he decides to flip after his visit, he might not announce it. He was quoted saying that he was just going to fax his papers in on NSD. So this one could go right down to the wire and be one of our NSD surprises.

I think people need to start raising their expectations for 2015, this team is no slouch.

agreed. I just want to see continued progress. We have enough talent that if everything goes right, we could be in Atlanta. but we shouldn't be angry or devastated if they go 9-3 and miss out on winning the East.

its all about taking steps in the right direction.

The drug task force camps out near Dickson as well. Right by the 840 junction.

Those guys have a way of making you feel like you have a brick of cocaine and a trash bag full of cash when you're just moseying along at 65 mph on the way to Cracker Barrel or something.

I may have messed up somewhere, but I'm getting 2726 with Richmond and Allen added, and us not losing any of our top 20 players in the process. And 2712 with Richmond but not Allen.

If we managed a miracle and added Tega as well...it would be 2783. And rivals screws us since one of our 5 stars (Kamara) doesn't get any bonus points, even though he should be worth at least an extra 50 points. And they tanked Preston Williams.

Edit: Just to continue the same line of thought...if, on the 247 composite, we added and nobody else, and lost nobody, we would have 286.68. And if Auburn adds CeCe Jefferson, Byron Cowart, Martez Ivey, AND Prince Tega, then they finish with 286.52.

Agreed... Prefer Allen over Richmond. May take Richmond 2 years to be SEC ready, which is fine. He's not close to seeing the field freshmen year anywhere he goes..

how can you say that when he already has prototypical size for the position? 6'5" 320lbs. IMO he looks the part of an instant starter.

Allen is the guy who won't see the field as a freshmen considering he's only 280lbs. He's the guy who would need to take a redshirt year to get 20-30lbs in the weight room.
