I have said that I TRUST Butch enough that I just can't believe he would hire DeBord as OC.

No one is bashing him, nothing has actually happened yet. Everything is hypothetical that we have been talking about here. It is a message board after all.

If Butch gets DeBord to sign on as a quality control coach then I will literally do cartwheels, naked, and in the snow I will be so happy

It's not like it will be hard to get him as a QC guy. I mean the guy is sitting at a desk answering the phone right now In Ann Arbor.

I would bet what has gone on between Hart and Jones stays between them.
Look for Debord to likely be hired on staff, but not as OC.

DeBord as QC for the O-line would be great. I'll give him credit for helping revitalize the O-line at Michigan in '06 with zone blocking. No one would know Jake Long's name if he wasn't brought on, IMO

How many times has this board been flat out wrong? Just ask the guy waiting for Gruden at the airport. How many have been off base? Read some of the drivel on the recruiting board from trolls. I strongly suspect Butch called in his old mentor, Mike DeBord, the guy who hired him at CMU to get his opinion and or see if he might take the Quality Control Coaching job to build the coaching bench for someone who can definitely coach an O Line and Tight Ends and who has some Admin experience. Butch reportedly consulted with Coach Fulmer and Peyton. Azzani is not acting like a guy about to leave. So, calm down. Let it play out and let's not give competing recruiters or boards more fodder to scare off the great class we have waiting.

I think it depends who you are. One person being complimented may become arrogant. Another may be humbled. Kind of like one person may read a benign comment and gnash their teeth, creating a crap storm. Another may read it as the benign comment that it is.

Again...

Depends on who you are at the core of who your are, I guess.

You may want to check the definition for flattery. It does not mean what you (and many other people) think it means. Flattery, by definition, is insincere. It's a false compliment and not something to be proud of.
