I would say OC hire important........
I need to know who theyre bringing in.
The 6-foot-4, 191-pound Williams went on an official visit to Georgia in late November, and he has discussed taking an official visit to Auburn this weekend. But he said Thursday night that he doesnt know for sure whether he will visit the Tigers. If he visits any school this weekend, he said, it probably will be Auburn.
Jones and Vols wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni didnt talk with him about the possibility of Bajakian leaving during their in-home visit with Williams on Wednesday, but Williams said Azzanni talked with him Thursday after learning of Bajakians departure.
(Azzanni) was like, (Bajakian) is gone, but were still going to run the same offense and all that, so dont worry, Williams said.
Williams said confirming that Tennessees new offensive coordinator will run an offense that fits the way I play is his main concern with National Signing Day now less than two weeks away.
I dont want to go there and a new offensive coordinator come there and they run, like, a whole other offense that doesnt fit the way I play, he said. Im more nervous than anything, because this decision that Im fixing to make is going to determine my life. The decision that Im fixing to make on February 4, it has to benefit me in a positive way.
He said he planned to call Jones on Thursday night to discuss the Vols search for Bajakians replacement.
Azzanni has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the offensive-coordinator position. Williams said it would be great if Azzanni, whos serving as his primary recruiter, was promoted to replace Bajakian.
If he becomes the offensive coordinator, that would be great, Williams said of Azzanni. Well just have to wait and see.
Williams said he spoke with Auburn on Thursday, and the Tigers coaches were just trying to capitalize on the opportunity because of (Bajakian) leaving and doing their best to convince him to take an official visit to Auburn this weekend.
He said he hasnt ruled out visiting the Tigers simply because they havent given up on pursuing him.
Since Ive been committed, every school in the nations come off me and stopped recruiting me and left me alone. Auburn and Georgia are the only schools that really are still trying to get me, Williams said. I guess they feel like theyve really got a shot now because Jake is gone. They still want to have me be a program-changer.
