He's always going to stand up some, but he's strickly 90%+ plus the time a pass rusher now. Being a SLB requires a lot more than just being a pass rusher, as I'm sure everyone on here is well aware. I'd leave the SLB position to Weatherd/Bates.

The gMe I watched he didn't even play DE the whole game. Absurd talent. I'm still shocked we got him and then how well he showed out in the Army bowl.
eVOL I told everyone this kid is and probably will be a Leonard Little type at DE. He's easily the fastest guy I have ever seen off the ball. I say this with high regard as I trained him some. I've been around UT and football a long dadblame time. I've stood on the field and watched from LL, Shaun Ellis, Clowney etc. Kyle's speed off the edge is unmatched. What I said in an earlier post was just this and it showed in the AA game. No matter whom they put on his side it was like road runner and Wiley coyote. This kid is a freak of nature. At out camp he weighed in at a outta shape due to injury and surgery 272 and ran a 4.6. Now that he's learned to use his hands watch out the sky is the limit. The stuff NFL vet and now coach Nick Eason taught me will take KP to whatever level he wants to go. GO VOLS
defensive line coach steve stripling on five-star defensive end kyle phillips: "kyle has size, range and speed and is just starting to realize his potential. Being a mid-year addition will be a great benefit for his development. He has all the tools to be successful at the university of tennessee."
