'15 MD OT Pat Allen

I was meaning if he didn't ever win BC of having those guys would he even be considered a good hire

I actually don't think he's a good head coach either, but he walked into a talented roster from Tubbs and players with fresh coaching staffs sometimes elevate their game, in spite of or because of the staff. If he were a good coach, he would have sustained that title run... and he didn't. Sorry to sound like a jerk, i was just like wha! :eek:hmy:

The only thing that bothers me about Allen is his size and bench press. I mean he weighs 275 and only benches 255. I suppose he could improve his bench press with a lot of time spent in the weight room. Right now, he a long ways away from being an SEC caliber lineman! However, if he is the best that we have a shot at getting, we need to get him.

no way that's accurate

Where did you hear / read this?

Have you seen the dude? Maybe 20+ reps x 255

He dominated in the Semper Fidelis AA gm landing him among the Top 5 Performers

even if this is true, he is still a take!
The scouting reports from the all american game said he had good technique and footwork, and rarely got beaten.
Ill take take great technique and instincts over a little weak early on. One is easily fixed with the magic peanut butter and a good S&C coach. Strong but sloppy is just a stump in the way.

Take him, strengthen him, train him, and unleash him!

I really hope we get this kid to build some depth. We'll have Blair the next two years, we have Kendrick, and then Hall and Jones. Tackles won't be as bare as they were this year, but adding Allen would really help. Hope UGA botches the hire and things go our way here.

I'm sure we knew that UGA would made a run at him to get him back in the fold. We will continue to make our case to him. We need both him and St. Louis to bolster our OT talent and depth.

That was his bench as a sophomore in HS reported in his rivals profile at the beginning of the thread...

I was looking at Pat's vital stats posted on Volnation! So. if those vital stats like Bench press etc. are indeed, accurate, Pat will need to camp out in the weightroom for a while. However, we do need to take him before anybody else does and beef him up and strengthen him up to where he is benching 400 to 450 with relative ease and squatting 600 to 700 without breaking a sweat.

Those numbers were from his sophomore year
