'15 MD OT Pat Allen

I agree but it be hard to pass in a tackle. Glad I'm not the coach

I assume the coaches play hardball and ask someone already committed but not signed to go to make room for a quick stud contributor. I would not want to be coach either. Not a popularity contest for sure.:lolabove::lolabove:

We simply do not have the space this year. Oline needs an infusion of talent but we have some other positions that are very thin on talent and just bodies. RB is one notable one.

This clown is looking for every reason to stay at UGA. If his heart isn't all Vol. Adios! I'm highly pissed sitting up half the night based on his making a decision and he wants to wait on UGA and their OC recovery plan. Eff him! We will be just fine especially with OT's that can make a damn decision.

Yeah these kids need to consult with you on the timeline for their decision to make sure it works out with your schedule. Give me a break.

I think if we could get two OTs, the staff would take both. I think the coaches would gladly trade taking another RB for taking another potential LT. That said, I don't think we get two OT to finish off the class, but even if we did, I doubt either is the starter next season. It's not impossible to come in and start as a freshman LT, but it isn't easy either. I think whoever we get, the coaches try and RS and put him through a year of the S&C program. The hope is Blair will be the LT next year. If he can get the technique, then that's best case scenario for us because he'll have that year of S&C that can prove to be so very beneficial. Allen, Richmond, St. Louis... I think they all have potential, but they're still raw, and they need a college S&C program to make them elite.

I highly doubt he waits until NSD, he is just giving UGA, a school that did good by him, a chance. I think you have to respect a decision like this which is extremely fair. I think when all is said and done he will still come here though.

I agree. Too much reading into what he said. He may wait to announce, but he will not wait to tell the school he has selected IMO. That would be too much risk. Just let it play out. Will be a good one no matter where he goes. Like what I saw last night and in his highlights. St. Louis is a good one as well.

We will be fine, folks. Take a breath. For those that don't think Jack Jones can play LT well, you need to learn more about how the game is played.

Nah, we have four committed Oline right now plus a LS. You almost can't take two more in this class with all the other needs.

I disagree. At this point, LT is the biggest concern. Until we obtained Martin, I would have said CB was a huge need as well. Outside LT, whoever we add will be nothing more than extra cherries on top. Hypothetically speaking, if we have 3 spots left, and Louis and Allen both wanted on, they'd be Vols IMO. My other player coveted in this scenario would be Newsome/Jones.

Again I think if we weren't filling so many needs we might have that luxury but we have drastic holes in a few places. We'll see but I'm betting that once one of those OTs commit we will slow down on pursuing the other.

I think someone has an extremely over inflated impression of their self worth.

Pat Allen is doing exactly what he should do. THat is giving each of the schools he is interested in a fair chance. As far as i am concerned, i would rather have Allen when he is certain of his choice, rather than committed and not sure.

The problem is, none of us have a clue about how many we will sign. Another issue is, we don't know what players are looking around. Miller and Oliver are the most talked about players who may leave. Miller likes OSU, and Oliver was looking at KY. Another player we will have to watch for is Boulware. As soon as UGA obtains an OL coach, I can almost guarantee VN that UGA will be giving Boulware a call. OSU could become a factor as well if Boulware wanted to take some visits this month.
