He is on twitter taking up for the SEC saying it's not overrated. Judging by his Twitter he's all Vol. Does anyone else think Butch is saving his commitment for a rainy day?

Because he is short. They don't tend to rank short WRs highly unless they have been at their camps or all American practices to prove themselves in person. I don't recall him being in the big camps like a Christian Kirk was. Kirk stock went crazy once he showed out at The Opening

Wasn't Newsome the guy who tweeted about recruiting Richmond to Ole Miss during a trip to UT? I could be wrong but I thought I remembered something like that.

There is an unconfirmed rumor Richmond recruited Newsome to Ole Miss while on a trip to UT. We pretty much stopped recruiting Richmond after that visit though, so it seems the rumor has legs.
