'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

If Phillips' Mom is involved and considering academics is important, Ole Miss isn't in the conversation.

It must not be about academics since LSU is inferior to UT in the rankings. I think kids from middle and west Tennessee look for reasons not to attend UT if they do not have a connection. Also have to wonder what effect Hendrix leaving the program is having on these middle Tennessee kids? What about the incident with Drae Bowles? These are things that have a negative effect on the program.

We have open positions on the depth charts. Why do we not have Tennessee kids lining up for these spots?

Why would a kid from Missouri leaving have an effect? None of these kids know anymore about the Bowles sitch than we do. You must be hanging out at Sonic a lot for all the straws you are grasping at.

Quit worrying about what state kids are from! Get the best players!

If I wanted to get away from where I grew up I would go to another state for college, which I did. Its not that strange. Cut them some slack and get the ones regardless of state of origin that have the talent you need to be successful. Ugh this horse is so dead.

If that was the case then Florida state wouldn't have any recruits, chill out man it'll all work itself out.

Yep. I may get banned because he is considered holy ground but lets just say that Corner/Buck is more loyal to his former DC than his university. He may have legit issues but Buck didn't get the appropriate love from the current staff and they are paying the retribution.

Buck is the main reason for what happened is happening in Middle TN. Thats why they recently met. Don't be so naive to think that aformer L ipscomb grad is behind the sudden LSU renaissance in Middle Tennessee.

1. Corner expresses frustration multiple times with the current UT football coaching staff in the last 9 months.

2. Corner praises Chavis for having a unique way of connecting with certain types of recruits (and, yeah, I went to church with Chavis in Karns and can guarantee that he did not, does not, and will not ever have a recruiting bone in this body).

3. A new whiz kid that bleeds UT is suddenly the reason that LSU has--really for the first time in its modern history--started to make headway in Middle TN. Headway with, notably, a group of recruits that Corner and his group are close with (you don't see LSU making much headway in Murfreesboro where Corner and his group are not influential).

4. The current coach and staffers meet with Corner and others recently to better understand what is going on. The gist is that several players close to Corner and his group should have been recruited by UT and weren't. This has caused frustration and that frustration is being evidenced this recruiting cycle.

One wonders if this group might even be suggesting to recent UT commits, current players, and their coaches about this whole "Butch is a mean cusser" meme.

And, so all of this is just a paranoid coincidence? Yeah, right.

May the Corner defenders now begin their march...

.

Rumot is that Buck and Butch seemed to have had a falling out. CBJ not taking Amadi when Buck had him lined up seems to have pissed Buck off.

Hopefully, this can be fixed. Whether or not you want to believe this, Buck has tremendous pull with Nashville kids and works with them everyday.

JMO but I don't think its a coincidence that Dooley was completely shut out of Nashville in his time here.

Luckily there is this little state to the south we seem to be in good with...

Most schools would be hard pressed to get enough quality OOS kids to make up for missing on the quality in-state kids. UT needs GA to "supplement" its in-state pull, it can't rely on GA to offset its in state misses.
