Titans should trade back 3-4 spots take Cooper.

With the extra pick obtained trade up back into late first and take Gurley.

Obtain Cutler from Bears.

Offense will include. ..

Cutler

Gurley/Sankey

Cooper/Hunter/Wright

Walker

Even I could get excited over that group. Cutler's issues are a product of The Nutty Professor they have at HC along with the Bears organization in general. There are no QBs on the horizon that I would invest a first round pick on anyway. The rest of the skill guys would be excellent.

Spend the rest of the picks on D and O-line.

No offense but who would block. That oline is terrible. They were terrible with the starters not hurt. Greats team have a great qb, good oline and dline typically, the lines can make anyone look good in most any position.

I say roll with Mett for a year bc he has flashed a little bit of potential and pick the best oline or dline man and pick the best qb if he doesn't work out next year.

Cutler is toxic--a loser. The guy's got a bad attitude and has always had one. He's had arguably the best receiving corp. in the league in chicago, so I don't think having talent around him is the problem.

I would not burn that pick on any of the QBS in this class.

Cutler will be released this year. Maybe the Titans can pick him up on the cheap.

They need to address the OL through FA

Remember when Kerry Collins was labeled toxic?

He came in and led the team to the playoffs multiple times.

Sometimes a change in scenery is all it takes.

Titans can address needs through FA. I think they should trade back around 12th pick up a DE. OL has too many holes to be addressed in one draft. Build everything but QB, give Mett one more year. If he works out great, if not next year will have a better group of QBs. No need to pull a David Carr and get a rookie QB killed behind this oline

I like this except cutler. Would rather save the money and use Mettenberger. I really think Mett is going to be special. Would love for the Titans GM to do this, unfortunately he's an idiot and wouldn't even think about doing something of this nature

He had a change of scenery when he went to Chicago. It was good for a minute them went back to his old self. After nine years he is what he is.

Has it been 9 years already? Time flies

I am not crazy about the QBS in this class. Maybe Mettenberger is the right choice for now.

It was rare indeed but he did give praise a few times and several episodes showed he was really caring about his men despite all the yelling and gruff face.

You talking about Jones or Sgt. Carter? :)

Seriously though, I remember watching practice videos last year. Jones would barb a kid for not doing something right. Later in the video, he would praise the same kid after they fixed whatever they did wrong. A few folks complained about him "ripping" his players in practice, but Jones, from the little I saw, always went back and praised corrected work.

That's practice. I don't think I've ever heard Jones even remotely rip a kid to the media.

Oh, worth noting and pretty cool for Vols' folks: we are told that Gator Bowl/Jacksonville officials will checkerboard the Tennessee end zone --- marking the first time in the bowl's 70-year history to have a checkerboard end zone. That's per folks in Jacksonville we spoke with this week.

Let's interject here about just how much momentum and fan support Tennessee has: outside of the SEC's playoff or BCS participants, no league school has done more to burnish ticket sales than the University of Tennessee. The Vols sold-out their initial 8,000-ticket allotment in a hurry; they're nearly out of the additional 2,000, non-premium seats they received on the heels of that.

I don't think Cooper would be available 3-4 picks back. Really think the Raiders take him to give Carr a weapon.

Cutler can probably be had for a 7th round pick. The Bears won't outright release him because his contract is fully guaranteed. If they can't trade him, they'll keep him and play him if they have to pay him. My guess is Trestman is gone and they will try and hire a coach who can work with Cutler.

Jones has tried to plenty fun with the right focus for a game. Obviously, that fun has been a trip to Gatlinburg. Friday evening is a team movie before a weekend of practice and a Monday departure by noon for everyone to get home for Christmas. Even the office staff gets to dismiss midday on Tuesday. In addition to outings, Jones has had messages for his team from former players. He mentioned on Thursday that former Vol Peyton Manning had a video message for the team. Saturday former head coach Phillip Fulmer will address the team after an invitation from Jones. It will make at least the third time that Fulmer has addressed a Jones team since his arrival at Tennessee. Jones also has reached out to a number of former Vols to express the importance of and magnitude of reaching a postseason bowl game. It's no accident Jones, who's worked tirelessly to form a nice bond with Manning, asked the future NFL Hall of Famer to address the Vols via video for the 20-year anniversary of Manning's first bowl. Jones constantly peruses the history of Tennessee football and also has others also advising him on the program's past.

The Titans haven't exactly cornered the market on finding good value through free agency so I wouldn't necessarily go that route.

I think Mett needs a chance to prove he either is or isn't the guy. Plus, there isn't a Franchise QB in this draft, IMO. Winston has future disaster written all over him and Mariota will spend the majority of his first few years in the NFL learning how to read coverages and progress through his checks. In other words, if I'm an NFL a GM, there's no way I ever draft a QB in the first round who's never ran a pro-style offense before.

I like the idea of dropping back in picks 3-6 and picking up either Gregory or Shane Ray. This team needs a pass rush above all, IMO, but has significant needs elsewhere too.

Basically, the Titans are a train wreck.

Derrick Morgan has been pretty disruptive lately with his pass rush. Some feel he's finally getting more comfortable with the 3-4 scheme. Jurrell Casey is a beast as well. I think you can never have enough pass rushers, but I think the Titans like what they've seen in transition up front defensively thus far and especially the past few games. Another thing that has killed us, have any of you looked at our IR list? It's ridiculous. Reminds me of our Vols this year lol

No way do the Titans need to mess with Cutler or Hoyer. Keep developing Mett and draft another QB this year.
I'd take a late round flier on Sean Mannion. 4 year starter in a pro-style offense, good completion % although his QBR is low. Big kid with a strong arm. Basically a Mett clone.

Titans need a defense heavy draft. Amari Cooper would be a luxury we can't afford right now.
