Derrell Scott is going to ECU per JC Shurburtt

That's probably a better situation for him. I'm really just not sure where his playing time was going to come from.

The best part about the Derrell Scott situation is that Butch pretty much just boxed out South Carolina for his services.

He would have gotten playing time in the middle of the season when Hurd and Kamara are banged up and have the flu or some such inevitability. Now, if Paulk doesn't make it back in, we're looking at those reps going to Pickett or a freshman or a walk on. That's pretty thin at the position.

Not sure if posted, but Jakob Johnson may have to have season ending shoulder surgery, and Kenny Bynum would start at Mike

After being at the Vandy game, that's not necessarily the worst thing for our defense. J.Johnson looked completely lost much of the game. He was out of position on several of their big plays. They inserted Bynum late in the game and we got the stops.

I'm sure Jakob is a superior athlete but in that game he looked like a guy who hasn't played a ton.

Although it would stink for him not to get to play in front of his "home" crowd in Jacksonville.

With the little we saw of him this year, would a highly touted freshman be a step down? It's not like he got anything in the way of experience.

Spot on

Two years in the program would have made a difference and would have made him more formidable for a freshman to overtake his 3rd string spot (unless they are the next Jalen Hurd, which doesn't seem likely).

Quick recruiting question for you guys to agonize over. Would Henderson's space be able to be backcounted? I know that generally the 25 is not effected by people leaving the program but he never cleared so he never counted as a signed athlete.
