Next year will be good. Cubs will be World Series Champs and Vols will have a winning record solidified before Bowl game.

Yep. She always fantasized about me playing LT

Remember the cyclops guy? Haven't seen him in a while, but every time he spoke in first person, he used "eye" instead of "I."

It was a pretty well earned shtick, according to him he lost an eye in an accident and he was definitely committed to it.

Any of you east Tennessee dudes know anything about Morristown? What's it like there?

I worked there for a year. Commuted from west Knox. Not where I would choose to live. There are some good things about it, but not enough. The area isn't really pretty and economically it's more challenged. Pal's is good.

Now somebody respond to this by defending the thriving economic, scenic, metropolis that is Morristown.

What does Pal's is good mean? What are the good things? Not a big city kind of guy, so that isn't a big deal to me. How close is to a bigger town for groceries, etc?

Eye don't like all these FF style threads in this forum!

Seemed like the best place to express that thought.

I couldn't agree more! But this is the few months that the asshacks come to our forum hoping to gain all the knowledge of years worth of following recruiting, and, like the venereal disease they are, threads pop up like herpes outbreaks to prove they lurk in greater numbers than we're comfortable with. The season is mostly over, recruiting is coming down the homestretch. Now there's a bunch of noncommitted asshacks that want to do well at the cooler talk in the office this winter and they're studying up on recruiting news so they don't sound like the asshacks they really are. They'll be gone for another nine months come February. Just my $0.02.

Don't know about Pal's. Morristown is fine if you want a city of 30,000 that is 40 minutes or so from Knoxville in a pretty area. Good amount of industry for a city that size. Decent medical with hospital. Walters State Community College's primary campus is there, which is a perineal power in juco baseball. They have a mall and many of the major retailers, restaurants, etc. Two high schools, East and West. Just slightly out of the Knoxville MSA, but close enough to get to most of that market in less than an hour.

Carson Newman is just down the road around 10-15 minutes away in Jefferson City - which is closer to Knoxville.

Sounds good if crime and such is low. Have a phone interview with a company there.

Crime is not bad in that area according to the MPD captain that gave my daughter and I concealed carry training at Walters State a couple of years ago. The TWRA works the remote areas for meth labs and such. Seem to have a pretty good handle on it. Hispanic population growth is up which is driving the increase, probably because of the available jobs. Seems to be a lot of good folks and calmer lifestyle IMO. I live in Sevier County to the south, but I would have no issues with moving to Morristown if needed. Good industrial base for jobs as well as the transportation industry is booming around there. I-81 and I-40 come together near the city. They have tried for years to get a mega industrial site put together and approved near the railways to attract more industry, but to no avail because much of the population prefers a more rural, slower paced life style. Good hunting and fishing in the area if that's your thing. Good golf courses nearby as well.
