Chubb is FPOY, no question. Barnett has no argument for that award, but I agree he should be first team over Dupree.

In the Sheriron Jones thread (not a surprise), there was a poster who said that he hardly comes over from the FF to the RF because of the drama.

It is infinitely harder to be a freshman DE than a freshman RB. And he dominated. He absolutely has in arguement

So a kid that very well should've been a backup most/all of the year if Gurley wasn't dumb as a sack of hammers and took a few benjamins over a guy who started every game (but 1?) and dominated. 2nd in sacks in the SEC and tied for first in TFL. What was Chubb top 3 in the country in?

Barnett is 3rd in the nation in TFL with 20.5 and 16th in the nation in sacks with 10. There are no other freshmen in the top 31 in TFL and only 1 other freshman in the top 42 in sacks.

Chubb is 25th in the nation in Rushing Yds with 1281, which is 5th best among freshmen and one of 7 freshmen in the top 40 in the nation.

Trivia: with a minimum of 10 rushing attempts, what team held Chubb to his lowest average per rush of the year?

Convenient you cut off that last sentence. What was Chubb top 15 in the country for that matter?

Is being in the top 15 of a statistical category a pre-req for Freshman end of the year honors? I didn't realize that.

I love Barnett. He was crazy good as a Freshman. So was Chubb. Chubb is a running back who took over for the Heisman front runner and didn't miss a beat and was the best back in the conference. And he also played for a team that was ranked in the top 15 for most of the year. Barnett played on an unranked 6-6 team.

Chubb is your FPOY. He was a monster this year. I expect he'll be National FPOY. Chubb being FPOY does not mean Barnett sucks. He was great too (2nd all-team SEC as a Freshman). Calm down and take off those orange shades.

No it's not. But PT to me is a huge factor. If Chubb started all 12 games with that production I wouldn't be upset.

I'm perfectly calm also, so there's no need to tell me to calm down lol...

If you think Bud Dupree deserved first team over DB you've lost you damn mind though.

Fair enough, but "The Heisman front runner and best player in the country at his position played in front of me" is a pretty good excuse for not being 1st string.

Dupree being 1st team is all about seniority in my opinion. Barnett had a much better year, no question. That's just typical SEC bs. I'm with you there for sure.

A lot of times these awards are just silly, but I have no problem with Chubb getting FPOY. That guy is a scary good player, and it's crazy he's a freshman.

Mario Lemieux and others came out of this and played long careers...they always say that Hodgkins has the best recovery rate...scary fight ahead of course...definitely praying for him.
