I'm 38... I think those of us who remember some tough times in the 80s, some glorious times in the 90s, and an intermittent to downwardly spiraling 2000s have a little bit more historical context to view the college football landscape.
I seem to remember LSU and BAMA being perennial dumpster fire programs for quite a while.
Everything is cyclical. We will see what happens with Florida and a new coach. They've gone from NAT'l contenders many years in a row to firing a mediocre coach and possibly settling on some no-name as a replacement.
TN on the other hand, seems to be the model of stability and consistency in a crazy coaching search off season. Isn't it nice to not be following airplane tail numbers?
So, in other words, some of us prefer to be less reactionary and knee-jerk as the FF and take a little more long-term view of things. Hence, the interest in recruiting and focusing on players who might not even be making an impact for 2-3 more years.
