In all honesty, and I hate to say this, but I feel like Louisville merits a better bowl opponent than us. Ever since we've been bowl eligible, I've been rooting for a UT-ND match-up in the MCB.

I agree. Us playing anywhere above the Liberty is a testament to the fans and not the team or it's record.

Last year shouldn't matter tho. I still think you have to put em in but they've played nobody. I don't think any of the other potential playoff teams are scared of them. Might be the team they want the most.

Can we really say Bama is the No.1 team in the country?

Struggled with Arky

Struggled with a bad LSU team

Haven't exactly dominated every week.

No quality road wins at all.

Oregon has dominated week in and week out. Why are they not No.1?

The SEC West is overrated and a joke this year. They act as if that division is just ridiculous. In reality the SEC is young and down. No one is playing good defense. That's an indication that this league is having a down year.

If you are in a weaker conference you have an advantage plus stretching to 8 conferences waters it down. With 6+2 you could have a stacked conference send 2 or 3 to the playoffs.

Ehh, sounds gimmicky to me. I vote for 8 conferences.
If each conference could only send one team to the playoff I don't see how a lesser conference would benefit.

Saban's teams close. Period. Iirc he has 0 undefeated NC's but wins the big ones. That is why I say you have to select OSU. They closed extremely strong and Meyer knows how to win the big game.

Weaker conference could have a several loss team make it in over a team with only a loss to the best team in the country.

Alabamas only loss was to a top ten team. Every team in the West is bowl eligible. West is a joke? You have got to be kidding. Oregon lost to an unbanked team. Alabama has a top 5 defense nationally.

Saban went 14-0 in 2009.

Arizona isn't unranked are they?

Your other points are valid.

Why should finishing matter more than the rest of the season? Look at quality wins, look at losses. What Baylor did to OU KSU TCU is equal at least, and their loss was more respectable.

TCU wiped the floor with Baylor...and lost. Oklahoma imploding at the end of the year and allowing Okie State to become bowl eligible took some points away also. It boils down to Ohio State being down to their third string QB and still shellacking a quality Wisconsin team.

I still think it's delicious that playoff zealots prayed for chaos all these years and only got it when their playoff came to fruition. :)

From what I've heard and seen on TV Butch gets on the players when they don't make good efforts or repeat making mistakes. Malone's efforts in games have not always been up to par. I certainly want him to stay but I also want him to put out more effort. He needs to copy what Pig has done this year, seems like he can find a way to get open and catch the ball. Not sure about Josh's blocking but that might also be an issue. If Josh is serious about playing in the NFL he needs to step up his game.
As far as Checkerboard Radio goes, I know nothing about them and I doubt they know anymore than I do about what is on Malone's mind. JMO

Just needed a playoff paired with bcs and it would have been fine.

I agree. The Playoff Committee have a hard task ahead. If it were me, I would pick: Oregon, Bama, Fl State, and TCU, just because their schedule is harder, IMO. Their only loss was extremely close away to Baylor.

As for Malone, I never heard of that site until today.

Watch what you wish for. ND has been decimated by injuries, especially on defense. If they get healthy for their bowl game, watch out.

Ohio State made a statement last night, but their schedule is still weaker compared to Baylor and TCU.

Looks like Wash St may take an entire Juco team. Last 4 commits on 247 are all to Wash St from the same place and they all play defense for Riverside CC. Interesting tactic.

Yes Herbstreet was making his case last night for his alma mater. He said that OSU should jump TCU because TCU had beaten an inferior opponent compared to OSU. He neglected to mention that OSU was beaten by an unranked Vtech team at home. He also neglected to mention that OSU had basically practice games week in and week out.

I think Ohio State gets in because it's easier to leave out TCU or Baylor politically. This whole thing is a train wreck anyway, so I'm rooting for the most chaos possible.

There was a Notre Dame fan that posted on another site about the possible match up. He wasn't expecting many guys back and they lost a few more vs SC.
