He went on to say that he and the coaching staff disagreed and he didn't many carries. He made it sound like the reason we lost so many games is because they didn't give him the ball.

I'm disappointed in him. He has gone out of his way on multiple occasion to put UT down. He wants everyone to think his story is one of struggle. Many of you know, I used to own a business where I was a contractor for FEDEX. I owned the Brentwood area. There was an hotel named AmeriSuites on my route. Foster's dad was the general manager there when he played here. Foster wanted everyone to think he was this broke "hungry kid needing tacos" while his dad was knocking down big bucks nearby. His dad moved here from San Diego to be close to Arian and saw him every week. He told me he goes to Knoxville every weekend.

I have a problem with someone who constantly wants to be the victim. He goes out of his way to say "look at me, I made it from nothing". Don't let him fool you, he's not one of these kids that came from the projects and had to fight their way out.

Good post. Hate to tell Arian, but he did have a fumble problem. Not that a fumble is ever at a good time, but he had some at some game-changing times. He did some great things, too. But it would be nice to hear him say, "I did struggle in college holding onto the ball, but I am happy to overcome that and be a successful NFL player."

I was on VQ when his Mom was as well. I liked her as a poster, but that is why I would advise family members to stay off. Nothing good really comes from it. I got the feeling that Arian had a decent upbringing as well. Not wealthy but not as bad as some have.

The General Manager of a large semi upscale Hotel n Brentwood makes well over 100k. He wasn't hungry.

Good news is, they followed his story with one about Jason Witten.

I like how one of the players (Barnett?) in his interview today said CBJ told the team before practice they will be playing in the SEC championship game next year. That's the kind of confidence our coaches need to instill in the players.

Hendrix is probably observing the Barnett fireworks and wondering "where's his". Since a number of observers had his ceiling as higher. If he weathers this moment, we could see similar from him...especially after Maggitt leaves.

When you have a QB who is a dual threat like Dobbs, I don't see how taking the ball out of his hands on the snap does anything except give the defense one less thing to worry about. When ever we used it in the past whoever gets the ball just takes off running like some school playground play. It never goes anywhere. unless there is some threat of him passing or handing off or something, it just seems to telegraph that he is getting the ball and running with it.

Unfortunately, attrition happens every year and happens especially when you sign a huge class with multiple guys at the same positions. Hendrix is a Strongside DE. Barnett is our SDE of the present and future. Hendrix would be a career backup to him if he stays, imo. Maggitt is Weakside Defensive end. His back-up/co-starter is Vereen. Two different positons that require two totally different body types. I don't blame Hendrix if he leaves, hope he doesn't because he would be awesome depth, but you can't fault him if he does. Now I'm not sure if playing time is the issue, but that's why it's important to build depth over multiple classes and break up the eligibility of players at similar positions. That way you can say, "your time is coming" in regards to being a starter. Elite players don't want to ride the pine their whole careers when they have realistic NFL potential.

I really hope we hold onto him. There's always attrition, but we can't afford to "reload" with freshman in the two deep every year.

A question for some of the gurus on here... If those guys do leave, how does that affect how many people we can sign this year? Does it mean we can sign more overall, or add to the EEs that can be backcounted?

Nothing wrong with getting into the players heads and planting that seed. If they believe that the coaches believe in them that much that's one obstacle they have surpassed.

Anyone think Gary Patterson could be who Cowherd was referring to for Michigan job? He played today and has flirted with jobs in past few years. He looks like a Michigan type coach.

I still think it's Pinkel, but Patterson is a solid guess too. I hadn't even thought about him.

I agree. The way he described it it sounded like CBJ was basically saying don't be satisfied with just making bowl games. We've got bigger goals. Good to hear. CBJ definitely believes in himself and his players.

Classy move by TCU, imo. Honestly, I was on the Gary Patterson train when we were under a coaching search. Why did we never get him again?

Houston taking shots to the endzone on two straight. Would have played for something underneath on second down imho.
