To all who are not TT fans...I have a read for you!

That defense will look very different with Ray Lewis in Junior Seau's spot and Ed Reed replacing Rodney Harrison. That's where New England's money is going.

Bellicheck wasn't dumb publically slobbering over Ed Reed a couple weeks ago.

Ozzie's already talking complete overhaul in Baltimore. It doesn't make any sense for the team or the players for either guy to hang around for that.

No. The Patriots have three rings without him. They may give him a raise, but it will be on their terms.

All I was saying, and you appear to agree, is that his value on the field sure would seem to justify more than he's making now. For his part Brady would likely chip in out of his own pocket to keep Moss there. Besides, that's just one example, I'm sure you could name several "currently underpaid/underappreciated" examples off the top of your head right now.

Are you serious? How in the world can they manage that in the salary cap? I don't understand how the Pats are able to just waltz up to three teams and take the best receiver from each one. Now a year later they are getting the NFL's best safety and a top 5 linebacker.

Simple. Lewis will take a salary comparable to Seau's and Reed will get Harrison's money plus the cash they'll save for not having to sign the top 10 pick they're getting from San Francisco, which they'll send to Baltimore.

Well, I guess there's something to be said for how the idea is posited. "Ultimatum" has some gray area of perception.

I was using this word this way: "An ultimatum (Latin: the last one) is a demand whose fulfillment is requested in a specified period of time and which is backed up by a threat to be followed through in case of noncompliance."

I suppose. I guess they'll probably also be letting Asante Samuel go. Wasn't Richard Seymour also trying to get more money not too long ago? It also seems like someone would come in and try to take some of those offensive linemen. I really don't get how the Pats are able to keep all those guys together.

That still leaves some gray.

"I want a $10,000 raise or you can shove this place."

and

"I have been approached by other parties that are prepared to compensate me with higher position/pay than I currently have here. I appreciate the opportunity you've given me but I have to look out for myself and my family's interests. I would love to stay on here but if you are simply not in a postion to match the offers I've received I may have to move on."

The "threat" is exactly the same, this or else. I think we'd agree the presentation is not even close.

I could see Letting him OC the bowl game but not a condition of hire...

I for one do not believe TT could stay here if he or we wanted him too... This mess alone is enough to cut your loses... Fans here will be debating and questioning his hire as OC next year... Meanwhile, TT will continue to stroke and buddy up with these players until it becomes his team... There is one head coach at UT right now... TT is building an open divide in their loyalty between Fulmer, The University of Tennessee and himself... As good as he is he is building an undercurrent within the Organization that will destroy it if not approached correctly.....

Right now there is so much Confusion and Craziness within the Staff and players all rumors and inuendos that there is enough blame for all to Share... MH included...

We have access to too much information but they could have controlled it better.... Austin Rodgers comments do not matter but he was allow to say it... Mistake by the Vols Media Department...

Did Fulmer and Taylor Talk... Right now I see no win win situation for anybody involved in this... The Players, the staff, the coaches, the AD... It has gotten way out of hand...I do know for sure the Players should not have been brought into the marriage counselling of divorce...

Hire Taylor as OC then there will be resentment... Let him go then there will be resentment.... Forced hire then war and coup. Forced Fire then resentment and possible shut down but resentment will always be there...

TT owes it to his employer the university of Tennessee to tell all what he wants why he wants it what he has done to earn it and what he is willing to do to get it... He also needs to explain why he is qualified to be an OC at UT... Just like the standards that will apply to the other eligible coaches being considered for the OC Job.....

Man Sudden Impact, unless you're privy to more information than I think you are, you are overreacting a little.

I agree Sudden, one wonders who is in charge right now. If I'm Fulmer, I'm sleeping on the office couch, I'm the only one the media here's from and I'm making sure Troop and Cut are on the way home as soon as their daily duties are complete.

I share your concerns, and totall agree, but I do wonder how much of this situation is reality, and how much is speculation gone wild on this board. Some posts appear to have substance, others are totally off the wall.

I don't see where you are coming from.... But right now this is the way that it appears.... Rogers interview last night on the Local News said alot... anybody that is hire as the OC is going to have to meet certain standards....Based on history of this program... There is alot of problems with the personalities of the Staff....Kids will alway follow the easiest paths of least resistance and discipline... Just ask the Florida coach Zook...I think TT would get caught in a similiar situation....

It seems that at the very least Troop told some of his players what he might do if this or that happens, and imo that is totally inappropriate. If he was asked he should have said, ya'll need to focus on the bowl game and this other stuff will work it's self out and left it at that.

yeah, being honest with the players is ridiculous.

he should have left them a note.
