I asked a couple of people(husker fans) up here. They didn't like him.
Haven't asked about the new coach yet.

They should realize that it's not 1996 and Tom Osborne isn't running the triple option.

They just fired a guy who averaged 9-4 for 7 years.

Be careful what you wish for.

I understand that. People can be illogical and unreasonable, as you know.

4 losses every friggin year. If 5 years from now our best season was a few 9-4's how would you feel?

As we celebrate going to a bowl since the Carter administration

I see what he is saying though. Granted I want a 9 win season soon... The way he did it became stale. Beat teams he was supposed to beat with minor upsets here and there, but lost big games. He didn't have one year where they "wowed" anyone. Blah team IMO

Well their best seasons were 10-4's but I see what you're saying. Of course UT would not be content never getting over the hump in the next 5-7 years. That said, you have fans on this board today who would be fine paying a coach 4 million dollars who has topped out at 6 wins in Orange. 9-10 wins would look pretty good and I'd bet those same fans who are applauding the current guy at UT will be very content if in 2-3 years we are seeing 9-10 win seasons. CBJ has won in smaller conferences. CBP has done so in the BIG12 and the BIG10. IF....IF....CBJ to UM was looking at all likely, IMO CBP would not be bad way to go at all. No buyout, he could be hired IMO at a very reasonable price, and use CBJ's buyout $$ to flip it into a powerhouse staff. IMO UT would not take a step back at all.

Oh....and the OL would be much better. :)

Where is Butch right now? There have been some tweets that say he is in Ann Arbor! Although I think they are probably full of it I just want to confirm...

Another name being floated on the Michigan boards is Mark Stoops. He's from Ohio and knows the lay of the land in Big Can't Count country.

1st Question on job application for UT HC position

1.) Do you have a "Dream Job" not named UT?

If answer is yes, there are no more questions

So, John Brice says Butch is in the top 3 of Michigan's wishlist. Lovely.

Would not surprise me at all. I fully expect them to go for the homerun in Harbaugh and maybe another and then fall back to reality. With where they are today, CBJ would be a very reasonable option but IMO they would have to over pay him(in a big way) to get him. It may come down to that is what they have to do. Closer it gets to NSD, the more desperate they will get.

Hart won't let Butch go easily, especially if there's a chance he also has to fire Tyndall this year due to NCAA stuff.

Someone mentioned Rich Rod and coaching searches so I wanted to see what he's being paid.

Talk about a value hire.

Rodriguez's current deal expires Nov. 30, 2017. The proposed extension would increase the football coach's annual base salary of $1.33 million to $1.5 million. The salary then would increase $100,000 every June 1 through 2018, when it would reach $1.9 million. Rodriguez also earns $495,000 annually for peripheral duties such as radio and TV appearances. Under the proposed deal, that sum would increase to $500,000.

IF...IF...something happened with CBJ, this would be another great option IMO. UT is already more less set up for RR's style of play and he has proven to be a great coach at AZ.

But for real, I expect them to miss on their top 3-4 and then land someone like him. Maybe Pelini? Lots of different directions this can go
