Ditto. I even got a shoutout from a small piece on recruiting in ESPN the Magazine.

Seriously, though. What would we have to do to get a recruiting statistics and analysis thread?

The lines moving closer together in 2014 accounts for our high class rank in that year. Basically, when the lines move closer together, either (a) Florida's rank was better than ours in the 5th year (the one that just dropped off) and/or (b) our rank is better in the newest year.

Butch is pissed a new kid and an unproven guy is going to come in making 3.5 million. Droves love Butch but if you push the number high enough and we are still losing to the UGA's and UF's etc that will sour.

Has Rucker ever actually broken news about Tennessee? All of the reporters in Knoxville have the same sources, but he tries to act like he's more "in the know" than everyone else. It's funny how national writers tend to scoop local guys 9 times out of 10 anyway.

Ya, Mac coming in and making 3.5 after a 5.5 mil buyout changes the game. You have to pay butch 4 now, and trust me guys 4 is nothing compared to the stability and recruiting classes he would bring even if we only keep him for 2 more years.

I am with you but this crap gets to be like extortion in a sense. It needs to stay somewhat reasonable or just let him go.

Nope. Butch should get 3.5. I'm a Butch fan but he has to prove that he deserves above market value.

The market in the SEC is around 3.5 for avg.

To me, 4 million per you should be competing for the East.

This won't die until Butch inks a new contract. Either an extension at UT or a new one at Michigan.

If it's a play for cash then there is a limit and this should end sensibly. If he and Michigan have a boner for each other it won't end until we are overpaying for a coach that we are then skeptical of. For example is Butch worth 5? At some point you get a guy that wants to be here.

Besides Butch being from up north...is there any other reasons to leave...pretty sure their facilities isnt close to ours and the talent he has coming in...don't see it
