"Multiple sources I spoke with told me Jim Harbaugh has already told Michigan that he is not a candidate. Sources tell us that Michigan has reached out to Butch Jones as well. Jones will not be a candidate at Michigan."

Michigan, Florida, and Nebraska (traditional power) all looking for coaches and all can pay a lot of money.....

Tough market.

Im sure this has been talked about, but who do y'all think will be the most improved players in 2015?

I think: 1. Jashon Robertson- This guy wasn't an EE, switched positions, and was next to another true freshman for a lot of the year. I think that if we are able to move Kerbyson to RT and Jason having his first year in a strength and conditioning program to mainly work on his feet he'll be a monster. Coming out I saw several scouts say he'd make a beast G but probably needed to RS because of the position change.

2. Emmanuel Moseley- obviously a very athletic guy who also changed positions when he got here. He seemed ok in coverage until he was forced to guard a bigger WR, but thats cause he's maybe 170lbs. I think he'll come into next season above 180 and will be a very good #2 CB for us.

3. Dontavius Blair- I truly believe that the coaches wouldn't of RS him if they didn't think he would help us significantly. Blair is a guy that came in with a lot of bad weight, which stinks cause he's a juco, but I think Dave Lawsons specialty isn't necessarily adding on massive amounts of weight and muscle to players like the last guy. I think Lawson knows how to take a guy like Blair and take that 6-8 310lbs and change it, by losing maybe 5-10lbs and changing a lot of that bad weight into muscle so blair can move on blocks. I don't think blair will start next year, but he will have to play, and will be better than this past year so the coaches will trust him.

JRob is a super star for all that. he's definitely the best on the line even with all those hurdles. im sure he will improve but he already has done great. with you on moseley!! has already shown flashes. no idea why blair was a RS..hard to say most improved if he hasnt yet played a down.

my list:
1. emannuel moseley--loved his play during kentucky game. runs a 4.35 40 and showing his aggressiveness as a true freshman? love it. skys the limit for this one. higher ceiling than cam sutton IMO, which says something since cam is the best corner we've had at UT in a while. (also willie martinez is a BOSS--good at finding diamonds in the rough AND can coach them..)

2. Josh Malone--has had a difficult transition...did better with worley i think who obviously was more accurate this year than any previous year. hoping dobbs and him will connect! hes one of the ones i really wanted in last years class.

3. the entire offensive line (only real bright spot was jashon this year)--this is just wishful thinking.

runner up: Aaron Medley (room for improvement but had amazing year as a freshman. will get better on longer FGs);

break out stars: evan and elliot berry, kenny bynum and/or jakob johnson (wishful thinking), Jason Croom (showed flashes this year).

Probably why Michigan went ahead and fired Hoke now instead of waiting a couple of weeks. With Florida and Nebraska already looking, they would be taking too big of a chance if they waited.

They are already late out of the gate.

If McIlwain took the UF job, would Colorado State go after Kiffin? He was a GA there, and his brother played there. What if he got his brother off the OM staff to be DC?

Silly season.

I feel like Derek Barnett could be one of the most improved. He too was a guy who wasn't an EE, stepped up and was a complete animal all year. Imagine how he'll be after going through spring practice and summer workout.

Schools get to deduct from that whatever the other job ultimately pays them in many cases. So we pay for example Dooley the difference of his HC salary and his Dallas salary.

yeah every contract is different. they're probably both technically buyouts. it just depends on what side wants out... the coach, so he can take another job; or the school because they are looking to hire another coach. either way you're getting the coach out of his contract.

but they call it the "buyout clause" when the contract states that if you want to take a job while under contract with our school you have to pay x. and typically the school that wants to hire that coach will pay it for them as part of their new contract.

had dallas wanted dooley before we fired him, then dooley (dallas) would have to pay tennessee whatever the buyout was. the buyout wouldnt be related to the salary the school planned on paying him through the rest of the contract because the school would be relieved of paying that since the coach broke contract by taking another job. but because tennessee fired dooley, tennessee had to pay whatever was left on his contract (possibly minus what dallas is paying him if the contract said that).

my point was those two scenarios are different with different figures. so you cant compare what we are paying dooley to fire him with what florida would have to pay mcelwain to hire him.

I envision a Sophomore slump only because everyone will be keyed on him. And he'll have more playmakers around him. Kind of similar to Sutton. Maggit will have the NFL year he deserves though.
