The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Let's put Vanderbilt's history in the SEC in perspective. The SEC started in 1933 and since that time Vanderbilt has won 129 Conference games as a member of the SEC (129-388-18).

Georgia Tech was an original member of the SEC (1933) and they won 116 Conference games as a member of the SEC. BUT THEY LEFT THE CONFERENCE 51 YEARS AGO
(1963)!

So, in 51 less years, Georgia Tech has only won 13 less Conference games as a member of the SEC.

That's Chicago Cubs level bad.

What is crazier is that James Franklin accounted for 10 of those wins. That's almost 10% of their total SEC wins compressed into 3 years.

Actually it's 11. So before he got there they were only up 2 on GT in SEC wins. Which also means it wasn't until 2008 that they finally passed them.

Since it is Thanksgiving:

I'm thankful that I am not a Vandy fan and was lucky enough to not grow up in a household full of Vandy supporters. I am also thankful to be a graduate of the great institution we call the University of Tennessee!

Go to the game, remember the players have to be there and they put a lot more into this than us fans. In one of the threads about Harvard it who is having a great year, the head coach there said football is important, but not the most important thing at Harvard. Same is true at VU, Stanford, NW, Duke on and on. Feel sorry for the UT fans when they sing Rocky Top because this is all they have and it isn't what it used to be either. So enjoy the game, and remember that is all it is and there are far more important things going on at Vanderbilt, fortunately.
Onward and Upward

It's possible I missed one. I went back and counted but did it while distracted.

11 is even slightly more damning to the state of affairs I was trying to illustrate.

Vandy is probably still trailing if we count GT's wins over SEC teams after they left.

If Vandy were a car, this would sum their team up.

Vanderbilt got a new commitment.

Vandymania:

Rector is a guy teams have to have. Great motor and never quits. After his leg heals up he will be a solid addition. He was having a monster year until that injury shortened his season.

Yeah, man. Teams have to have him. I can see it.

My intentions are not to pick on the recruit. Just laughing at the things Vandy fans say.

Vandy or Vols? Couple makes light of split allegiance

Friends of Bo and Peggy Lewis already knew of their lighthearted rivalry when they arrived at Two Rivers Baptist Church that Saturday fall evening in 1990.

But the soon-to-be-married couple took it one step further.

"The ushers at our wedding took the Tennessee people to one side and took the Vanderbilt people to the other side," Bo said.

"So instead of bride and groom, it was UT and Vandy," Peggy interrupted, still proud of her creative idea 24 years later. "Even back then, they said we had kind of a mixed marriage."

So there were 100 guests on one side, and 2 guests on the other?

The first 16 predictions started off 9-7 Vanderbilt. The final 17 predictions finished 13-4 Tennessee. Of the 33 combined predictions it's 20-13 Tennessee. On top of the Vanderbilt predictions doing a 180 half way through the predictions, most of the final 11 predictions barely have Vandy scoring and Tennessee blowing Vandy out. I'm more inclined to agree with the second half of those predictions.

Yeah but Is Berry the only person on the planet with a problem? Not to downplay his illness, but there are bigger issues the announcers could be discussing. Besides, there is a football game being played.
This type of S*** is what they are posting on that crap site run by Yates. They cant take an a**whopping with any class. F Vandy!

Andy Richter? You mean to tell me the guy from Conan O'Brien's TV show is going to play college football?

Well good for you, Candy. He's probably loaded so maybe you can talk him into picking up the tab for the halftime orange wedges and Poweraide.
