I think alot of people rate the cities by their school systems. Obviously that's a fail toward Memphis. At one time, there were two school systems, county and city. Until it got so bad with mismanagement, the city school officials just threw there hands in the air and said yall take it over. I haven't kept up with the situation lately. I just know that Tennessee would probably jump over about 15 states in school rankings if Memphis stats were left out.

The schools might not be the best. There are some good ones though. Three of my younger siblings go to White Station.

A few of the former county schools (now Municipal schools) are some of the best in the state. Sure, they aren't inner city schools, but I am willing to bet that both Nashville and Knoxville have inner city schools that struggle. Heck, the state has some rural schools that struggle. But, Houston High, Germantown High, and Collierville High are very good and top public schools in the state. When I was working with Houston's mock trial team several years back, I was told there were several at the school that received perfect scores on the ACT. This is why I don't care for people lumping "Memphis" into the entire area. There is great living here and great schools, and while some may believe you have to be wealthy, the cost of living is so cheap compared to other parts of the country, especially out west, the NE, and Florida.

It truly is a great place/area to live.

So....Bo Wallace's backup is pretty awful. Have fun Drew! A very real chance Ole Miss gets last in the West next year

Strongly disagree. How many successful CFB coaches have failed in the NFL and how many successful NFL coaches have failed in CFB? Spurrier, Saban and Weiss are immediate thoughts. The ability and skill to interact with players on two different levels is key. The same as thinking a good Engineer would be a good Manager or the opposite.

name a succesful pro head coach who couldn't succeed in college?

nfl is where the real legends of coaching reside.

Would have been nice to beat Missouri while Ole Miss was losing yet another as further proof why Richmond should choose here. That said if he cannot see how he'd get an immediate opportunity to provide an impact at UT he's crazy.

Interestingly enough, Woody Wommack of Rivals says he has some information that leads him to believe that Drew is Alabama bound if Freeze leaves Ole Miss. Said this in response to a poster saying they had heard as much.

Don't put any stock into anything Woody says, but I can buy the possibility that Butch backed off after he recruited to Ole Miss while on a UT visit.

I hope Ole Miss gets curb stomped by State this week.

It's looking that way. Bo Flawllace is back to his old ways. Ole Miss' performance against Arkansas was pretty sad to watch.

I don't want to take anything away from Arkansas though. Bielema has them on the right track. They just need to get a respectable QB in there.

They will fall next year and even more the next two. As that lone highly recruited class will be done. Upside is much higher at UT, would have been even more apparent had we won Saturday. However I'm sure he could see the only problem was o-line which is where we need him.

To add to that, it says a lot that with all we are going through, ole miss is only gonna win 1 or 2 more games than us after the bowl games are played. Boy that Mizz game woulda been huge!

Unverified rumor, but it does seem like we haven't heard much with him since his last visit.

I realize this probably happens a lot, but if true, DR is slime in my book. You don't do that to the instate school that's shown you the most love and to the fans who have championed your name for this long.
