Why did the cops ask Vol fan to sit down last night?

I prefer that people are considerate because if one stands, everyone behind him must so they can see too. It's not just the healthy robust person behind you, but everyone attending who is being blocked because of one inconsiderate person.

Thats stupid. It's stadium seating meaning it goes up, maybe 2 rows behind can't see that's it.

I stand pretty much all game, every game. We're about the only SEC fanbase other than Mizzou that sits. Every away game I've been to outside of Mizzou I've stood cause everyone else is too.

Wrong. I've gone to all sec stadiums except for a&m and I've sat I'm my damn bleacher seat.

Only stood when necessary and appropriate!

Maybe you've been that unlucky dude stuck in every student section.....

So we should just ignore our rights? $100 well spent. I'd pay more.

I guess if you are hard headed. I'd just sit down and keep $100 in my pocket, plus continue to enjoy watching the game instead of having a cop ask me for my info and spending 30 minutes running a background check on me

I am an usher in the stadium. Whether it is liked or not, the person has a right to stand as long as he is not standing on the seat. The cop had no jurisdiction to make him sit, and the usher of that section should have told the officer to leave him alone. If the cop continued the issue, a stadium supervisor should have asked him to move on. I agree that there should be consideration for those who sit around you if you stand, but he really does have the right to stand up for the entire game. The police were out of line.

I do not believe you are actually an usher. What is the secret Usher code phrase? what is the secret Usher hand shake?

Plus according to the Stadium seating diagram, section is a 10 second stand zone.

There are sheep everywhere. I'm not one of them.

The A&M student section stands all game. The alumni and general fan sections only stand when something big happens, big downs and others intermittent times.

Is their a disclaimer on the ticket about standing... Next farting who'll be frowned upon especially sbd's

So you're telling me I'm wrong i didn't stand everywhere? I've never set in an opposing teams student section yet I've stood at 9 out of the 10 SEC stadiums I've been to plus OU, Cocktail Party and Clemson/Bama Chick-Fil-A kickoff. Most of those games were buying an opponent, season ticket holders extras and sitting with them.

I hope I end up standing in front of your lame ass one day.

No but there is an obvious implication that you are paying for a seat to sit in. I'm pretty sure a good lawyer could win a court case with that alone.

Hello. I was sitting in section K last night and a Vol fan about four rows in front of me was standing up and cheering for the Vols. The guy behind him politely asks him if he would sit down. He then says I am a VFL and cheering for my team. The fan then gets the cops to ask that man to sit down and he pleads his case to the cops saying he is cheering for his team. I had no problem with this man standing and cheering for the Vols. So why did the cops ask him to sit down? Didn't that man have the liberty of standing up and cheering for Tennessee? Thank you for your time.

My season tickets are in K row 64. We must have been sitting right near each other. That's funny. I definitely remember it

Hard headed? Pot meet kettle. I've tried to explain this to you more than once, a cop is not going to do this over refusing to sit in Neyland Stadium. The most likely scenario is an actual authority figure will be called to the scene(someone in a position of authority as it pertains to the stadium). That person will most likely ask you to sit down as well. If you refuse, that figure will then give the officer the okay to escort you from the premises. You will not be fined, you will not be arrested, you will be escorted from the stadium. That is worst case scenario(unless you do something incredibly stupid like assaulting the officer). The authority figure will do as much as possible to avoid the worst case scenario because they want you to enjoy your time there, but if you push, they will have you forcibly removed. But the final call is made by the staff in charge of managing the facility, not the police.

So you lost your seat. Congrats on being hard headed. Thanks for buying a ticket, come back next time

Don't clutter all these old folks with knowledge. Doesn't compute.

Cops rule us all!

If you truly are located in Oregon, isn't standing in Neyland a moot point for you? If you did not go to school at UT, possibly you have never had the opportunity to talk back to a southern police officer. In my day,I have bailed out a few friends who did. :hi:
