'15 MD OT Pat Allen

Who "commits" at an all star game when they are already committed?

Ahem, flip alert IMO.

It's happened before. A recruit weighs his options after committing means he is "open" and at times just re-commits. Some also just like the spotlight.

I get the spotlight thing but this kid has been far from doing anything like that. Burrell maybe but Allen seems to have been focused on two teams all along and him not shutting it down after his UGA visit makes me think UT has a great shot at a flip.

I like where this one is going...

Fortenberry says it's telling he came off his official UGA visit and instead of "shutting it down" he still sounds open.

Side note here...

I would put little to zero stock in anything coming from Rusty Mansell. He is the biggest UGA homer of all time. He is like the Chris Smith of UGA.

He goes on 247 and crystal balls practically everyone to UGA. check it out for yourself.

He even predicted Vol lock Nigel Warrior to UGA.

Also, and I think this goes without saying, but nothing "Lebanon Volunteer" says should be taken seriously either...unless you like uninformed opinion after uninformed opinion.

This. He's not reliable at all. He's every bit as bad as the Ole Miss mods who think they are a lock for every player who gets and offer or take a visit to Oxford.

Makes me very happy the Tennessee reporters aren't like that.

I agree. It's like pulling teeth for one of the TN mods on 247 or Rivals to predict a recruit going TN's way, which pretty much means they know the guy is a lock when they say anything remotely positive about TN's chances with a guy.

If we only landed one more prospect in this class I would want it to be Pat Allen.

a big time OT is the missing link imo.

Per Hubbs

Elsewhere in the recruiting universe, it was big news that offensive lineman Pat Allen came out of his Georgia visit saying nothing was decided and that he had some 'evaluating' to do and that he would announce a final decision at the Semper Fi Game at the beginning of January.

Tennessee is very much in the thick of this race and as we've said for weeks now it would be important for the Vols to survive that visit. They did just that and heading down the stretch it's hard not to at least feel like the Vols may be trending here.

Allen will still have his in-home visits before an announcement so this is certainly a recruitment we're going to monitor over the next four weeks before the dead period.

Not at all. I don't think Allen flips. JMO

I think we have enough commitments taking other visits to fit in a few of the guys who look to be wanting to be Vols.

Just your opinion, which of course is not a problem. And he very well might not flip. But when a committed player takes an official visit to the school they are committed to and does not reaffirm his commitment that tells you something. Not to mention positive outlook from very conservative VQ writers. I don't think there is any way that it is less than 50/50. Maybe even more than 50% for UT.
