John Tyndall proved the greenhouse effect in 1859, the same year Darwin published On the Origins of Species. Arrhenius calculated climate sensitivity to CO2 in 1896. US presidents have been aware of climate change at least since JFK (and none have denied it). The Charney report for the NRC in 1979 was the first official consensus. The attacks on climate science didn’t really start until the 90’s and climate denial didn’t go mainstream in the GOP until about 5 years ago.

Why do you readily accept the scientific consensus on stellar evolution, but vehemently deny the same community’s consensus on topics like evolution and climate change? You don't suppose there might be a little confirmation bias here, eh?

The birth of stars and planets hasn't been absconded by the left to advance a pro tax big government or to kill God agendas.

Idiocracy describes our country to a T. Scientists are liberal mouth pieces and reps paid by O&G companies that also openly admit they are not scientists, are the correct ones. I personally think "Global warming" is a dumb term. I would say, Man made pollution that is killing life forms and altering our atmosphere is the correct way to describe the situation.

Yes Sandvol, killing living and breathing things on this earth. Go ask the Chinese how awesome their air is? They eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner it is so thick.

"Clear skies may remain a distant prospect, but more Chinese are taking steps at home to protect their health by purchasing air purifiers and other products to ward off the side effects of the nation's economic boom"

I can link a thousand articles but frankly like many have mentioned before, It's a waste of my time.

Chinese ? Its probably their breath - ever seen a Chinese person with nice white teeth ? And I might add 75% of them are chain smokers --- GW is a myth

Because their gov sold them out? It's a localized symptom to them but no doubt it connects to all of us though. Also this isn't "global warming" I'm talking about.I do not know if our pollution causes hotter temps or not. That's an impossible stat to measure in relation to made man pollution. I do think it's very idiotic to say it's all roses and nothing bad will come from all the destruction we have introduced to our planet.

I find it highly ironic that the anti-environmental crowd desires this unregulated toxic sh!t the Chinese are now finally fed up with, yet they simultaneously accuse the pro-science crowd of being *communist*

Its 17 degrees here in the middle of Illinois, with - 6 wind chill ( 25 degrees below normal) - shut up about about this warming garbage it doesnt exist

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reports that last month was the hottest October in more than 120 years of record-keeping — by far. This follows the hottest September, August, June, and March-May in JMA’s records! Projections by NOAA make clear 2014 is increasingly likely to be hottest year on record.

And these records occurred despite the fact we’re still waiting for the start of El Niño. It is usually the combination of the underlying long-term warming trend and the regional El Niño warming pattern that leads to new global temperature records.

I'm sure it's real chilly in Illinois this mid-November night, but that is no indicator of the reality of climate change. climate =/= weather

So that's what NASA (could be communists) says but yet mike on VN says our earth is not warming. Like I asked prior to this post, are you in the science field or are you just guessing?
