If you just google Judith Curry it will come up and you can get to it. She just basically describes how the global temperature is not warming nearly as rapidly as the IPCC models predict. So we don't have to be such alarmists.

I think the irony of the global warming movement is that when all is said and done, carbon emissions are most likely going up in the next few decades due to the replacement of nuclear plants with gas plants. It's already happened in California at San Onofre. And it will probably happen elsewhere.

I just don't see wind and solar replacing the nuclear capacity on the grid that is set to retire.

Weezy brings up a good point of just how outdated our grid is. I bet we lose a good bit of efficiency in transmitting electricity, from any source, because we haven't really upgraded the system in 50 plus years. (in east TN at least that is true) It also contributes to a lot of the 'brown outs' that happen when the system can't handle peak loads.

Skeptical and hopeful. I'm leaning towards BS, with the fact that it's Lockheed Martin giving a little bit of hope (as in, maybe they aren't just looking for investors).

we've always been 10 years away. until someone gets a prototype working I am not holding my breath. would be awesome, if the first generation fits in a semi we could quickly see almost man portable versions.

May, June, and August also set monthly temperature records. The last 3 months each set all time records for ocean heat. The past 12 months are the hottest 12 month stretch on record. Yadayadayada

Instead, what 'little evidence' there is for rising global temperatures points to a 'natural phenomenon' within a developing eco-system. In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: "The ocean is not rising significantly.

"The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.

"Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing).

"I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid."
