Best analysis yet. Coleman will be a good player for us, just has to work it out in his head. I know that if I were a kid who just went to prom, and 3 months later asked to block Dante Fowler I'd probably cry myself to sleep.. And then die.

Paul has said multiple times that Matt was down our board due to him not being a T.

It is Drew Richmond or Pat Allen or bust IMO for the last OL position.

I still believe we flip Drew on signing day...SO much more time in his recruitment.

I'll admit I was kind of hoping a Richmond flip was a possibility. The talk of Ryan Newsome saying DR was recruiting him to Ole Miss while on his UT visit does not sound good at all to me. More and more I think Richmond picked Ole Miss simply because he likes Ole Miss more and he sticks with them.

Dang, didn't see that quote.

You never know, maybe Freeze gets called up to a bigger program.

But you may be right it could be a longshot.

I think we will survive if we just hang on to the OL's we have now. Our OL is going to develop and look much better than it does this year. We can take 4 more next year as well.

I missed this. If so, that's cancerous to our recruiting. If I found that out as a coach, not that I'm naive enough to think it doesn't happen everywhere, I would reconsider allowing Richmond to come here all the time, even if it is unofficial. We aren't getting this guy anyways. Butch dropped the ball on the OT recruiting this year by going all out on him. The best hope now is to hope Hall gets healthy and Jones and possible Boulware can develop into good OTs in time. As a wise man once told me, **** happens, let's go home boys.

Each day passes it feels to me more and more like the (4) OL guys currently committed will be it on the OL for 2015. Holding out for Richmond IMO hurt the staff with the other OT options and them slow playing some of them. We'll be alright. Like you said, take 4 quality OL guys next year and it will be fine.

I think Freeze sticks for a while in Oxford. I think the man has the job he wanted. Ole Miss can pay him well enough to keep him around IMO.

I don't think so, I just don't think we have a lot of great options left at OT since Drew committed. I don't think the staff would tell Pat Allen no, for example, if he wanted to commit for Drew. It's just we haven't been in that position yet.

Now if you are talking about from the beginning of the year recruiting Drew and turning guys down like Austin Clark, ect Then yes I see that.

He was a longshot, we got in the mix a little late. If he waited til signing day, we may have had a better shot at him.

Yeah, I was thinking about Clark, Givens, and a few others that UT could have probably had if they had not went all in for DR and missed.

Oh well sometimes if you think you have a really good shot at the big fish it may not be a horrible move.

Especially since it's not like we struck out at OL this year with 3 4*'s and a good developmental 3* prospects on the board.

Now hold on a minute. This is misconstrued. There was supposedly someone close to Newsome who called in to a radio show and said Richmond was trying to recruit Newsome to Ole Miss. As far as I'm aware Newsome never made such a claim, unless I missed it. I just want to make sure the correct information is out there. A lot different coming from an anonymous radio caller and Newsome himself.

Then maybe I am wrong. I thought I read that Newsome himself said that in an interview. Maybe one of the VQ guys could just ask Ryan if it was happening.
