Spring QB battle?

One thing you have to remember is that Crompton was essentially a Sanders recruit. Coleman is a Cutcliffe recruit. Coleman has the inside track, from what I've heard, because Coleman is a Cutcliffe "guy". Crompton has too much gunslinger in him. But that isn't to saying that Crompton is reckless. Just that Crompton has a tendency to improvise more, while Coleman will have more of a tendency to stick to the script.

This was stated several weeks ago.... the one thing is that Tennessee recruits great QBs and finds a way to wash one out....

Hello people!

UCLA, hurt quarterback, freshman to the rescue.....

the legend begins!

Jerry Colquitt got a bum deal. Hurt on the first drive of his senior season. Probably one of the saddest days I can remember. Not something we should be referencing for next season.

the competition will be between Crompton, Coleman and Terrelle Pryor!

Why does everybody think that Terrelle Pryor is going to come here...We are good developers of NFL QBs but we wash out just as many... Not running his style of offense anyway and I do not see Cut changing our offense or him...

Pryor has said more than once he'd like to play in Cutcliffe's offense.

Pryor also has NOT had a chance to make an official visit and probably will not have time between now and signing day (because of basketball season). The staff is trying to work out a visit during MLK weekend, but as of right now, you have to say that tOSU is the frontrunner.

I felt so bad for him that day. All the waiting to have it end like that? I can't even imagine what that felt like.

A new article up on rivals hints that Ohio St. isn't in as big of a lead as many think. I'm not an insider so I can't read it, I think I'm going to give in soon and subscribe.

I never said Ohio State wasn't the frontrunner. I think it is highly doubtful he comes here.

It was a reply to someone who asked why Pryor would want to come here.

I hated it too... Colquitt was clicking on that drive... Best I have seen us come out offensively in a while... he moved the ball so effectively down the field...

his injury resulted in two QBs leading us to the NC....

Stewart that ended up at Texas A&M and Manning Laying the Groundwork for Tee Martin....Tee took over a team with alot of confidence.... Missing it the previous year provided the NC season the Following...

If he comes it will be a mess....but I will take him...just don't let the boosters dig into their deep pockets...There will be a QB debate for 4 more years....

I don't know, wasn't that the scenario that was suppose to happen with Brent Schaefer, but it didn't play out.

Brent broke his collarbone and hit a guy with a bat before he could have been moved. Before his freshman year there was horrendous depth at QB so they were scared to move him.

I look at Pryor like Banks.

Well, he did get kicked off the team so not like we could see it develop. The other thing is we never really had a solid backup for Ainge until Crompton got on campus. For the decent games ol' Rick had for us, watching him throw a ball down field was like watching a play in slow motion. I've always wondered what would happen if Schaefer managed to be around in 2005. I'm not sure our record would improve that much, but you never know.

What I would really like to see is a two QB system with each QB running a completely different Offensive Package... In the past we have had the depth and intelligence to do it. Each QB having a base of 7 to 8 players with changes at RBs and WRs depending on the Offense...It would be a nightmare for defensives to prepare for and would be like throwing change ups.

We tried the two QB system with different plays for each. It didn't work really well.
