Exactly. Not like he was a knucklehead in high school in Texas or prep school in West Virginia. He only picked that up in Memphis.

So Memphis helped him mature? It's a pos town and a rundown school by the railroad tracks. Not good for maturity and growth in any form, unless you gtfo like he did.

Could we be so lucky that this is the kind of kid that responds to NEED?
Going from just another guy off the bench to a position where he has to be a leader and major contributor.
Got my fingers crossed on Dom. Lots of potential to tap.

we will find out, but it's obvious he's put more effort and been more motivated in the past few weeks than he has been in many years. There are probably multiple reasons, and one of them is because he gtfa from Memphis and the funk of the city. Not music funk, but bring you down to our gutter attitude funk that infests Memphians by the 100's of 1000's. My family is there, my wife's family is there, I do business there and my friends are there. That Kroger bs was probably a mile away and the problem after the hs game is just down the road.
I wouldn't walk around Memphis campus at night for any reason whatsoever, and would be bitter about it.

EDIT: But haven't there been way, way more shootings in the Fort lately than on or around Memphis' campus?

Yeah. Let him have his optimism. Right now, no one knows what to expect from this team. I would be no more surprised if they won 20 games or 10 games. Fact is though, we are better with Woodson than without, even if your expectations currently amount to 5 fouls to give and a warm body for depth.

I'm from Memphis and my mom has had to recently change grocery stores on highland.

So far CDT has been teh biggest wet blanket. He has totally poo pooed Dom making any contribution or even seeing the floor. He stated that his conditioning is so bad that two trips down the floor and he is done.
I don't think this is a weight issue. Based on pictures the kid doesn't look obese. Remember Barkley. He himself said he was fat, but he cold still run the floor all day. Big Baby looked fat, but his conditioning was still excellent.

So, I don't think this is a pounds issue. He may have lost some weight, but that doesn't matter if he can't play tempo. CDT mentioned that although he has lost 19 pds. his conditioning is still bad.

Conditioning isn't changed overnight. The shed pounds are a result of the work put in to get in better shape. Tyndall also just mentioned yesterday a weight-loss schedule for Woodson they hope to adhere to, so apparently weight-loss is some part of the issue.

He is just pushing the kid....it will be his senior yr and he will still be pushing him to stay focused.
