We have a lot of young players and we need to keep an open mind tomorrow

Hemorrhoid Legion? :eek:lol:

But, this is true. After losses, I see so many names on here that I've NEVER seen before. Everyone loves something to complain about.

I won't name names but yes. There are people that only show up after a loss, who only think with their emotions and use no logic, and they come on and start terrible threads usually blaming bUTch.

This would never happen. The posters on Volnation are well reasoned, patient, and even tempered when things don't go according to plan.

The 4th biggest lie ever told. Right behind...

"The check's in the mail. I swear it."
"I'm from the government and I'm here to help you."
"I swear to God I won't :censored: in your mouth."

And the #1 truth

I want a win this week as bad as anyone. I also believe this team can beat anyone on the schedule on any given Saturday. However, we are still a young team. We had a freshman RB fumble in the end zone last week. Those kinds of things can happen with this team so, while this team has potential to win, there are no guarantees either. I expect to see improvement week to week and I have seen it but that doesn't mean they can't still let this game get away.

Either way, this team is a lot of fun to watch and I am happy with that win or lose.

I burned up my "open mind" space during the Dooley dumpster fire. I call for landscaping vol to be fired from the message board for making a terrible thread! :number1:

IMO that is unacceptable Sam

OK so wtf are you going to do about it? We are what we are and are improving. I guess you can kick your dog, burn a mattress, sulk in the corner or whatever. I suppose you will be calling to fire the coaches or the AD. Maybe if you pray hard enough Gruden would replace Butch and all would be happy in your world.

Agreed! I am forecasting a total Vol blowout of the Gators. That said freshman are unpredictable and I totally get that, not calling for heads to roll this season come what may! Totally supporting Croom as well to the end, predicting a big game from him tomorrow. GBO!

At what point do we get to expect to win?

Is this UF team as good as UGA or OU? If UT continues to correct mistakes and improve... going into UF at home... is it wrong to think its time for that "big win"?

It's Florida, I never expect UT to beat Florida because they never do. Tennessee has played 2 teams so far better than Fla in UGA, who they had a great chance to beat and Okla who they should've played closer but were never gonna beat.

That being said, for some reason beyond just the talent differential, Tennessee historically just doesn't beat Florida and this group of special young men are gonna have to play their absolute best, mistake-free football to stop this ridiculous, embarrassing, one-sided "rivalry" IMHO.

Yes it has been ridiculous how these post-Tebow Gator teams always seem to play their best game against the Vols, who meanwhile always bring a C- effort to the FLA game.

Last year IIRC the Gators went 4-8 because their back-up QB could not throw against anybody, but against UT he made several big plays through the air. Meanwhile Butch Jones bowed to public pressure and started Peterman, quite probably his biggest mistake so far as HC. And of course the Vols played terribly!

Then there's all those other years, Justin Hunter twisting his own knee at the beginning of one, Jeff Driskel having a career day, etc. etc.

At some point it HAS to stop, right?! I mean I accept that the gators have fielded much better teams on average for the past decade, but that means we should be like 2-7, not 0 and 9!

asinine post..... nowhere have I dogged CBJ or any player...nor did I ever mention Gruden.....I believe that this UT team is better than Florida at home tomorrow in this situation and I believe we should win... a loss and poor play is unacceptable.... I bet you warrior that CBJ would say the same freaking thing....
it is time for VolNation to start expecting more because CBJ does.... Dooley is gone.... future begins tomorrow for our Vols..

Few if any truly consider Vandy a rivalry due to the lopsided nature of the series in recent years.

Florida looks at us in a similar fashion truth be told.

Rivalries have to involve both sides winning to be a true rivalry.

True. UF is a measuring stick... but UT has to win some for it to be considered a rivalry.

UT needs to find a HC that can make that happen. Circumstances won't get much more favorable than they are now. Miami isn't great but they still get most of the best So Fl players. FSU's resurgence is bad for UF recruiting. Auburn also recruits FL well when they're good. National recruiting has never been more open. Close to home still has appeal... but not as much as in the past.

The door is open if Jones is the right coach for UT to quickly rise to the top and have an extended reign over the East. Even Spurrier appears to be in decline.

When we don't have 21 freshmen in the 2 deep.

Did that seem to matter when UT played even with the best team in the East? And FTR, UT doesn't "have" to play 21 Fr. They're the best players. They earned it... and in some cases earned it over guys who were considered quality prospects when they came to UT.

Jones says youth isn't an excuse... after this much of the season... that becomes more true.

And let me be sure I understand you correctly. Are you saying that being a better team while having Fr play negates being a better team or are you making an ironclad declaration that a team with lots of youth cannot be the better team?

IMO, UT is the better team regardless of youth. I think they've played better. If I am right that they've played better is that somehow negated because they have 21 Fr in the two deep?

Yes. If our young team plays mistake free, we should win. But young players have a penchant for making mistakes. (See fumble by Hurd last week).
So do poorly coached and motivated teams.

Enough plays like that from our youth and we will lose to a very mediocre Florida team.

So again, UF's weaknesses do not matter. Their mistakes do not matter. The opportunities they offer the UT coaches have no bearing. It is only UT's youth that matters... right?

we know Worley will be on his back most of the day,Fla will be looking for the screens and draw plays

Really? We know that? There's no chance that an improving OL against a front 7 that's a tier down from OU and UGA will protect Worley better?

We're gonna have a lot of young men on the field tomorrow that have never lost to Florida. And tomorrow night, we're gonna have a lot of young players on our team who have never lost to Florida.

if we lost don't come on here and start calling for coach's jobs or start with the "joe smith" stinks crap if we lose. We have the potential to play great and very poorly at times which can be the difference in a close game. I am just suggesting that all of you calling for a blowout need not come on the board and implode it simply because you were wrong.

if Worley, Hurd, Oline, AJ, Maybin, Sutton, play the whole game
If we force Florida to pass,
If turnovers are close to the same.

We will win this game.

I think young Mr Croom will get a TD or 2 and a couple of great catches

I refuse to even entertain the idea of losing this game. There's no way Coach Jones and this football team are going to lose to this Florida team in front of 200+ VFLs, especially Al Wilson. No.

don't forget that Terry Fair is the uuuh quality control coach of something or the other and has the defensive backs playing pretty damn good

I do think he is the one that has showed em some Vol pride

This is exactly why I try not to post after "subpar, fan expectation" losses. This place becomes completely detached from reality.

I usually refrain from comment as well, first slush out of yer mouth aint much good ya know:hi:

I am Orange no matter what happens, if I changed I would have to walk around "nakey" cuz all my clothes are Orange:pepper:
