Our D did stand up when it mattered. I thought play calling was good and I thought we did a great job of playing physical, but just a bit short in the end

the D stood up ALL NIGHT. i saw hitting by our guys that i haven't seen in a long time. i saw LSU guys take themselves out of the game. the game was ours. it was over. LSU had given up.it was the QB that blew the game.

Eh, 50-50. Cut can only make so much with what he's got.
His only had one recruiting class since he rejoined the Vols. Just from last year you seen a difference in offensive recruiting......signing players with speed and potential playmakers(ex. Rogan, Creer, Jones)

Rogan plays defense.

Meachem wasn't his recruit, neither was Swain or Smith, and the offense was a helluva lot more "explosive" last year.

Since the turn of the century, Tennessee is about as relevant as Clemson and Arkansas.

This program needs a championship badly.

look, guys. the score was 14-13 UT late in the game. we were close to our own end zone, and the situation called for ANY team to run the ball, get some first downs on the ground, and run clock. YOU DON'T THROW IT there, dam* it. why couldn't we run it. it is a lousy line, lousy backs, or what? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? why can't we run it???????

Bad news is recruiting appears to be getting worse. And it takes a top ten class to get us into the top 25.

I'm just guessing here, but maybe we didn't run it because it was 3rd and 5 and we were getting like 1 yard a carry running the ball.

Well Cut trying to do those wide plays with Foster (average speed RB) against LSU's defense (ridicliously fast defense) had something to do with it.

Inability to get the the 2nd tier of the defense (LB, DB) is also a downfall. No creativity. It's a sum of all parts really, a perfect storm of why we can't.

plus, we probably didn't think our SR QB would make that throw and if he did that his receiver wouldn't quit on the ball.

There you go mentioning details like down and distance.

I know Rogan plays defense, duh! He recruited Rogan to come to Tennessee. Before fall practice was over it hadn't been decided yet if Rogan was going to play offense or defense.

And second statement also supports my thinking. The staff before his failed to stock the cupboard with playmakers. Not talent but playmakers. Foster, Taylor, Briscoe and Hancock are extremely talented but have yet to have dominate playmaking ability. Please note that Meachem, Swain, and Smith were Seniors(Meach was 4th yr Jr.) and all played better under Coach Cuts coaching than previous years

my point exactly...WHY are we having such problems running the ball. it wasn't just LSU's defense...it's been that way for us ALL YEAR...WHY?????????

When it was third and 16 in the 3rd quarter and they scored a touchdown that was a major breakdown in coverage...you CANNOT let that happen...

I thought this was THE WORST play calling game of the year by Cutcliff/Ainge. Too damn conservative....just like the past 5 games...too conservative:rock:

you are right, that was a mistake, but one bad play CAN happen...overall, the defense played MORE than well enough to win.

I think we're still good . . . but our lack of big play ability is striking.

What? You mean handing the ball off the AF over and over is not big play potential? If Cutcliffe called his number one more time I think I would have puked.

Like I have been saying, Chavis is not the problem. Cutcliffe and his sucky playcalling and player utilization is.
