Ps4

I only play Call of Duty on 360....should I consider the switch to PS4 instead of XBONE?

I've had both the X1 and PS4 and the PS4 is better hands down. Unless you like turning your system on with your voice (which is cool for about a week). I think the graphics are better and the system is stronger on the PS4. I was a 360 user too iirc.

I love them both.

Me too, though for very different reasons. Here's how I view both systems...

PS4 > Xbox One for games. Multiplatform games look and run better on PS4, plus I'm just a much bigger fan of Sony exclusive IP's. It's also more poweful hardware so it has a higher ceiling than Xbone in terms of how far games will be able to be pushed. I probably spend 90% of my gaming time on PS4. I also actually prefer the Dualshock 4 over the Xbone controller. It has unique features like the glide pad, the built in speaker, the light bar, etc. Plus it feels slightly more comfortable in my hands overall, . The Xbone controller isn't bad, but I actually think ergonomically it's a step back from the 360 controller.

Xbox One > PS4 for multimedia functionality and UI. There's no other way to say it. The Xbox One is kicking the PS4's ass when it comes to multimedia and UI functionality. I use my Xbox One pretty much 100% exclusively for watching Blu Ray's, watching Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Plus with apps not found on PS4 like ESPN, NFL, You Tube and soon to get HBO Go, there's no reason ever to use my PS4 for multimedia. Also, I really love the TV integration, snap features, etc.

I agree with all of this except for the controller. The DS4 is not bad but the Xbox One controller is way better IMO. If the DS4 would not have the dang touch bad it would be improved. It gets in the way every time I try to hit the options button, and for 90% of games it is meaningless. The Xbox one sticks are better and the triggers with the rumble.

DS4 is just more comfortable in my hands (shrugs). The footprint of the DS4 feels slightly wider to me. After playing a while with the X1 controller my hands start feeling cramped. Also, the area on the analog sticks where my thumbs rest feels slightly larger.

At first I had the same problem as you with hitting the glide pad instead of the options button. However eventually got used to finding the options button and now I never hit the glide pad. Agreed that it's underutilized but I really liked it's functionality with Killzone Shadowfall and Tomb Raider.

I wish the DS4 utilized the mic in the controller more. I remember first time playing resogun, I was like holy crap.

Having both a PS4 and an Xbox One, there's something strange I have noticed about Netflix for each system.

On Xbox One, when you start a movie or a TV show through Netflix, it's displayed at the full HD resolution from the very beginning. On PS4, it ALWAYS starts out in a very low resolution and takes a few minutes to finally work it's way up to full HD. I wonder why that is? I don't think it's a network issue on my end because my PS4 is lan connected and my Xbone is through WiFi, if anything my PS4 should be getting the better connection.

Yet another reason why I keep saying Xbox One is the system of choice for multimedia applications.

I noticed the same thing. However, on my Xbone I would notice the initial fuzzy resolution when using YouTube before it enhances to HD.

Mine came in a pack of 4, 1 set of blue and 1 set of black.

Mine are a different pattern, with dimples on the outside edges. Will definitely be using these on all controllers from here on out.

One thing that annoys me: when a friend joins a party and I get the notification in the top left corner. I always think they are joining my party, I don't need to know when they join a different party.

Yep that bugs the crap out of me. However, It's sad that I rely on that to basically tell me who is online. Sony needs to get off their piles of cash and add freaking login notifications so I can turn that party crap off.
