This was discussed in another thread. Not sure about the Memphis offer, but I am pretty sure his Rivals profile shows one. Nonetheless, Memphis doesn't have many seniors, and unless someone leaves, I believe they only have one scholarship. Their focus is on Skal Labissiere?. I don't believe Memphis is a threat here. JMO.

Not sure. But Skal has a guardian that wants to keep him close. UK and Cal are not close, and the guardian would lose some control over him. You may end up being correct, but word in Memphis is that it is either Memphis or Ole Miss.

I only get the feeling he going to kentucky is cause I visit kentucky sites a lot and he seems to have more interest in kentucky than most teams. Well that's the way I took it. Who knows tho it could come down to memphis and kentucky with memphis winning out cause kentucky is in big time thick with zimmerman

Oh I agree, but we just took Phillips who's similar to Donte, my guess is that they weren't feeling confident on Donte and so they pushed for Phillips finally.

Or they ended up liking Phillips better after he showed he could play some point during AAU season.

This. The two seem very similar, but one has shown an ability to play the point this summer and has displayed improved ball-handling & passing skills. I'd say it's just as likely, if not more so, that we chise Phillips over Fitz instead of settling for Phillips because we fell out of favor with Fitz.

That is definitely a possibility, not used to seeing you giving that side of things and passing up the top 100 player and trusting the coaches "diamond in the rough" philosophy though.

It's definitely possible, will be interesting to see how both players turn out as on the surface Fitzpatrick looks like the much better player. If Phillips turns out to be a top 100 level recruit that would be a great sign in regards to Tyndall's eye for talent.

Fitz is not a top 100 player....have u not been reading the board.....I'm definitely not a diamond in the rough kind of fan.

247 has him at 111, seems like that's close enough to top 100 to put some validity in ESPN's ranking of him. If you're going to really argue about the difference in 11 spots at that point in high school rankings then that's on you, seems pretty foolish to me.

not arguing about it just stating that he wasnt......im not happy with his recruiting so far but hoping im wrong.....i do think we need to get consistently top 100 players and to get top 25 classes not every yr but on a consistent basis. i dont want my coach to recruit by star rankings entirely and want him to take the person he feels is the best player. i do think it looks like he has missed on several and is settling on these two players which worries me.
