'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

I do like the fact that Richmond retweeted them

He realizes that everyone expects him to commit to Ole Miss tomorrow and he wants there to be at least a little drama with his announcement so more than just Ole Miss fans will pay attention to it. It's the same thing Derrick Green did to us before announcing for Michigan.

I hate to sound like a Bama fan...but when the competition is Old Piss, if we can get an OV we still have a chance here. Their gameday atmosphere on an OV would not compare to ours...especially for the Florida or Alabama games. Don't let tomorrow get you down guys! (And there will be good news on Sept 26th!)[/QUOTE

Correct me if I'm wrong has he been here on those type game day atmosphere already

But hey he could commit to them now keep everyone off his case and flip and sign with us and be an ee and not have to deal with any pressure due to them reporting. I thought someone said he is an ee I'm not sure tho

Memphis is an odd duck in recruiting due to distance away and OM being close.

Hope we get him but get it if we don't.

I believe he has. However, we can't be sure he caught big orange fever. "Old Piss"(did you know there is an old bluegrass song by that name? Check YouTube! It should be played while tailgating when they come up here) may not have our stadium, but Freeze is obviously doing a decent job in Oxford in convincing players of coming there. I have heard many like what they do at the grove.

We will know soon enough. Would be huge to have 5 for this OL class. And this is one I have hoped for all along.

Problem is there will be some of that and no way of knowing if it is really UT fans. Opposing fans pose as UT fans just to hurt us if they can. The internet is an evil place...not sure why I'm on here.

You're secretly evil?

Saw that one of Richmond's friends said he found out where Drew committed to. So it sounds like he already committed and the articles are written. Now the Crystal Balls have started flipping to Ole Miss.

Yeah, it looks like a done deal - at least for now. I'm staying out of the recruiting forum for a few days...won't be pretty in here. LOL.

I'd dump this kid and put full steam on as many elite OL as I could. Without Richmond I believe we need two more OL now just to make up for losing a home run player like Richmond. You can't get pissed about it. You can't get down about it. We have to much going for us to worry about it. It's Memphis, and this has been going on for a very long time. Am I very concerned about our lack of landing top OL, especially OT prospects? Absolutely? Do I think OL coaching and recruiting is a weak link on our current staff? Absolutely. I know some people that have some serious ties to UT being the big donors they are, and this was the one concern they mentioned over and over again with CBJs staff from Cincy. I'm not trying to be that guy that says I know ppl, but I do, and everything they have said has been spot on. It is what it is. Main thing we need to worry about right now is putting full focus on getting at least one more OT prospect here by NSD. Let's just all back CBJ, and let's see what happens, and if things don't change in the future I'm sure CBJ will make the appropriate changes.

I think the staff and OL recruiting is just fine. Yes, losing a Memphis kid is not that uncommon no matter who is coaching at UT. Stewart, Jones, Hall, Boulware, and Lovingood at LS is a very good OL group. As been mentioned the staff will probably try and get in with another quality OT IF they can. You have to remember that the staff could have probably had Sterling Johnson and or Austin Clark at any time had they really pushed for them and not slow played them. IMO OL recruiting is alright.

Yep and honestly I dislike the crystal ball stuff because of this. They are giving away a kids moment for their game and attempt to be the best at "predictions". It's not a prediction if they already know.

Hey Leb! how's it going? So what do the numbers look like if we don't get Richmond?:p

Yea I agree. And I don't fall in with the crowd about it's not over until nsd. I think the staff stays on him until they flip someone else and then move on. They will have him replaced by the end of November IMO.

Saw a tweet from one of Chance Hall's buddies saying he's out for the season. :fool:

Things have been going well.

22 commitments. I felt Richmond and Tuttle were it.

No Richmond and I guess the staff could try for another OT or possibly go best available. I'd like to see them flip Sweet from UNC. Kid IMO has a lot of upside as an OT.
