Cats did pretty well last season without a 1 seed.

Bottom line, I don't think Cal is shaking in his shoes about CBP's return. Competition is a good thing; the conference was abysmal last year outside 1-2 teams.

Never said he was shaking. Bruce makes his life harder, as he does for everyone in the SEC.

I disagree. The level of coaching in the SEC outside of Billy and Cal is deplorable; Pearl automatically doubles the number of quality coaches that Cal has to compete with in conference.

Does this mean UK won't be the best team in the SEC? No. Will it be harder for Kentucky to simply roll through the conference aside from Florida? Probably.

Ok let's go back to Pearl's 3-6 record against Cal. Or maybe his 4-9 record against UK overall at UT.

But you suddenly think he's making Cal sweat simply by showing up and that suddenly UK cares about Auburn.

So sure, let's continue.

We'll either way I don't see cal worrying too much about Pearl. Especially since we'd only play in one time, and I have faith UK can beat any team when given a second chance (if we met postseason).

Number of notables? sure.

but give me healthy King > Barkley any day. Barkley was an athletic freak, but King was a once in a lifetime scorer on the level Durant and Melo want to end their careers on. He may have been the best pure scorer the league has ever had.

That is sheer lunacy. Barkley was one of the best to ever play the game, and he's still completely visible around the game.

2012 vs. 2014 comparisons are apples and oranges. The talent disparity between the two is significant.

The NIT team went off the rails when their #1 player suffered a freakish, college career-ending injury. That team only had one other player that would be drafted.

2012 had one Senior who made zero contributions to the team due to injury.

2014 will have a talent pool that will arguably be one of the deepest of all time. They will also have experienced leadership.

I don't think that you can come close to comparing these teams, especially based upon what we saw in the Bahamas 2 weeks ago.

Is there a change that they implode? Sure, mathematics will allow for that probability, but I'll stand by my original number.

Two different types of players. For fun, let's compare Auburn's Best from the "modern era" (1970s forward) against Tennessee's best from the same.

I'll pick for Auburn, which is fairly clear:

Charles Barkley - Center
Chuck Person - Forward
Wesley Person - Forward
Eddie Johnson - Guard
Ronnie Battle - Guard

Give me your 5 best for UT, and let's compare.
