Is Drew the #1 lineman on our board? I read on ESPN (they hate us... I know) that he could benefit from a redshirt year. Just their eval. TFWIW

99% of all freshman can benefit from a redshirt. Espn stepping out on a limb with their analysis.

ESPN did mention a number of lineman that could contribute immediately. Some of them were rated much further down the list than Richmond. I just thought it was odd... I hope he's all Vol. I'm one of those who think we should go after the top 10 instate players every year regardless. We need to rebuild the instate pride as the backbone of the program. JMO

FYP. While it is good to get in state players we want to get the best we can get regardless of where they are from. I think Alabama only has 3 or 4 in state players in the 14 class.

Back when Chance Hall committed the 247 crew heard Hall was higher on their board than Richmond FWIW.

They pump more sunshine than people on this board, not that anything is wrong with fans doing it. I still remember them blaming the Miss State loss on lack of talent and not coaching. Thats when I knew I was done over there.

Sure that'd be way nicer but I was referring to the immediate future. Don't get me wrong I think Butch and co are killing it on the trail. Right now we aren't at the level of an Alabama that can walk into any kid's house anywhere in the country and leave with a commitment. I think it's a good gameplan to stay on the instate kids for now esp since the talent level in TN is up vs 5 years ago. But I'm not saying choose between the top 10 in the country and the top 10 in the state? Heck, go after both! But wouldn't we have a better chance of locking down the state with the recruiters we have right now? Then branching out from there? After all we have coaches with connections all over the place... Start with the state and then hit up some favorite stomping grounds. JMO

They didn't say he def was. They said that some they talked to thought he was as high or higher. I doubt he was higher but maybe in same league in their mind.richmond has been butchs top target since last year for oline

Yep. The TN 247 analysts know less than some of the posters here about football ($) Premium

I believe many have alluded to Boulevard projecting at Guard. Richmond looks like a RT to me... so no, it shouldn't affect Richmond's decision.

I had thought OG as well for Boulware. I just watched 3-4 of his highlight videos and he could very well play RT. Kid is pretty lean looking for 6'4-6'5 290. The staff may be trying to have a few kids who could play either OG or OT as needed. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just helps solidify the best players are on the field.

I've seems few people state that they don't think Richmond is a LT. We need one badly this class though. If not Richmond, who do you guys think could fill that need for us? Hall?
