There was an incident a few years ago when they were at Cincy involving Alex Dale. They offered him a scholarship and then asked him to gray-shirt and made the MUS coaching staff mad.
Is it closer to Ole Miss than UT?
Interesting fact: every single school in the SEC West, with the exception of Texas A&M, is closer to Memphis than UT. Even LSU, in Baton Rouge, LA is closer to Memphis than Knoxville.
We do gain a bit of advantage due to the fact that Memphis is in the same state, and a lot of UT alums live there. But geographically speaking, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Raleigh-Durham are all closer to Knoxville than Memphis.
As far as Drew Richmond goes, I've always had a feeling he would be a tough sell. Sucks because O-line is definitely our biggest weakness at this point. It's amazing that we might end up with McKenzie and Tuttle on the D-line, but the O-line is the one area where we have had some struggles recruiting-wise. At least we landed Jack Jones, and some of our 2014 Freshmen are looking better than expected (e.g. Jashon Robertson)

JMO, but the words at least we landed.....and Jack Jones should never be used in the same sentence. He is not in the catagory of "At least".
Landing Jack Jones was big, but the issue is one of depth. We need more than Jack Jones to build a solid O-line.
Right now, if you look at almost every other position group, we look like we'll be in very good (if not excellent) shape 2015 and 2016. O-line is the one question mark. Jack Jones has been our one big get there. Though, Butch has shown an ability to find underappreciated talent.
